昨天貼的體質人類學在NY Times上的新聞，今天已經有中文版可以看了（NY Times的中文翻譯與編輯的動作真快啊！），另外一點是，這篇文章的內容讓我想起托福的考古題啊！

"馬爾他男孩大概三四歲左右，戴着象牙王冠、珠鏈和鳥形吊墜，被埋在一塊石板下。在同一處遺址的其他地方還發現了約三十個維納斯小雕像(Venus figurines)，這跟歐洲舊石器時代晚期文化的文物類似。經過二十年，俄羅斯考古學家於1958年完成了對這處遺址的挖掘工作，並將文物保存在聖彼得堡的各大博物館中。"

"而它們就這樣在博物館裡靜靜躺了50年，直到哥本哈根大學(University of Copenhagen)的埃斯克·威勒斯雷夫(Eske Willerslev)帶領的研究小組對這些文物進行了檢測。威勒斯雷夫博士是分析古代DNA的專家，他想弄清美洲大陸居民的構成，方式是在西伯利亞搜尋可能的種源群體。他從馬爾他男孩的上臂骨上採集了DNA標本，希望能夠從中發現東亞人的血緣，後者正是公認的印第安人的祖先。"

"馬爾他男孩基因組帶來的另一大發現是，他的基因組跟歐洲人和印第安人的基因組都有吻合之處，但是和東亞人的卻不一致。威勒斯雷夫博士的解釋是，當印第安人的祖先跟馬爾他人混血之時，他們就已經從東亞種群中分離出來，而這一群經過混血的人隨後穿過連接西伯利亞和阿拉斯加的白令大陸橋，從而成為印第安人的祖先。"
