📌 phát âm vì có phát âm được mới nhớ được spelling. Sau đó mới có thể đưa vào bài IELTS Speaking
📌 từ loại > để từ đó biết cách sử dụng, vị trí chức năng của nó trong 1 câu như thế nào
📌 cách sử dụng: Nếu là danh từ thì danh từ đếm được hay không. Nếu là động từ thì là nội hay ngoại động từ, ….. Giới từ đi kèm ra sao? ….
📌 các từ cùng gốc từ >> rất hữu ích vì cùng một công tra từ điển, bạn biết nhiều từ vựng hơn và sử dụng linh hoạt hơn

- Type từ cần tra vào ô tìm kiếm
- Chú ý đến từ loại trước
- Cách phát âm
- Các nét nghĩa và cách sử dụng giới từ đi kèm
- Chú ý các từ đồng nghĩa, trái nghĩa (nếu có)
- Đọc ví dụ
- Nhìn sang mục từ vựng liên quan

Mục đích: Tra nhóm từ đi kèm tạo thành những cụm collocation thích hợp
- Truy cập http://ozdic.com/
- Type từ cần tra vào ô tìm kiếm
- Chọn nét nghĩa thích hợp
- Chọn từ loại bạn đang cần tìm để đi cùng với từ gốc
- Đọc và lựa chọn từ thích hợp. Đọc ví dụ hoặc tra lại nghĩa từ đó nếu cần thiết
Ví dụ: Phát triển kinh tế của một quốc gia
Search "economy" ….., chọn nghĩa số 1 (sự hoạt động của nguồn tiền của một quốc gia) hay nghĩa số 2 (việc sử dụng cẩn thận quỹ tiền/thời gian mình có) >> chọn nghĩa 1
Sau đó, tìm đến các động từ có tính tích cực, nói về việc phát triển >> boost/ develop/ improve the economy hoặc các bạn cũng có thể nói economy flourish/ grow. Đôi khi phải check lại, ví dụ như k biết nghĩa của từ flourish chẳng hạn, lại search nghĩa từ này trong oxfordlearnersdictionaries và sẽ thấy nghĩa “develop quickly and be successful” >> chính là ý chúng ta cần tìm

Mục đích: Tra từ đồng nghĩa >> Nhằm mục đích paraphrasing và đặc biệt hay sử dụng trong IELTS Writing
- Truy cập http://www.thesaurus.com/
- Type từ cần tra vào ô tìm kiếm
Lưu ý về đặc điểm của từ đồng nghĩa: Chỉ giống nhau trong một nét nghĩa nào đó >> cần phải check nghĩa từ mới thật cẩn thận
- Chọn nét nghĩa mà bạn đang muốn tìm
- Mức độ đồng nghĩa giảm dần. Các từ được bôi màu vàng đậm >> nhiều điểm giống về ngữ nghĩa với từ gốc. Vàng nhạt >> ít điểm giống hơn
- Cần tra lại để chắc chắn từ này có nét nghĩa phù hợp hay không

Today, Derek and I have a little toast at home to celebrate the achievement of our dental practice for receiving a SME Award from DHL SCMP Business Annual Award. Three years of continuous refinement and unfaltering belief that if we always put our patient first, all the good things shall follow.

I would like to share, Derek’s speech during the online award ceremony.

” On behalf of @centralsmilehk , we are truly honoured and grateful to the “HK Business Awards”, South China Morning Post and DHL for awarding us the SME Award for 2020. Thank you.

Central Smile was founded just over three years ago. I never could have imagined the opportunities and challenges we have faced over this short period.

Although the name Small and Medium Size Enterprises gives a notion of a “petite” industry. But in fact, SME’s account for almost 50% of total employment in HK. So collectively we are by no means “small”.

There have been obvious challenges for SME’s and government initiatives such as the “Employment Support Scheme” and “SME Loan Guarantee Scheme” have been instrumental in keeping many businesses afloat. We hope such schemes will continue to support local businesses as we overcome this pandemic together.

I am optimistic about our future. As a society, we have faced many challenges before; The Asian Financial Crisis, SARS, social unrest and now COVID. Hong Kongers have always been entrepreneurial, spirited and hard working. Qualities fit for battle hardened society to flourish. There are many opportunities on the horizon and we look forward to expansion possibilities locally and further afield in the Greater Bay Area.

Personally I would like to also take this opportunity to share my gratitude and recognise the people that have been instrumental. Namely my wife @rosannewng, my parents Vivian and Richard Baram, the management team and all team members at Central Smile. Without your help, Central Smile would not be what it is today.

We don’t take this award for granted. It will spur us on. We hope to continue to develop into something we and our society can be proud of.”
