It’s Earth Day today. This year’s theme encourages everyone to do more to #RestoreOurEarth.

There are so many ways we can contribute to this as individuals – from using less plastic to conserving water. Every effort counts, and it’s never too late to start.

Reducing food waste in our daily lives is certainly something that we can all do. Instead of throwing your food waste after meals, try making your own compost. This video produced by the Science Centre Singapore shows you how.

Internationally, Singapore is also actively contributing to the climate solution. I will talk about our SG Green Plan 2030, at the virtual Leaders Summit on Climate today and tomorrow. We must all work together to build a sustainable planet for ourselves and future generations! – LHL

As we start another new season, the goal still remains the same: do dope shit.
So with that, I’m ecstatic to announce that starting tomorrow, I’ll officially be joining The Bar’s prestigious Thursday night Lounge 2030 crew once a month for a special DJ set!

If you’ve ever been to a Thursday at the Bar, you know this isn’t your regular DJ night. From the music, to the atmosphere, to the DJ’s themselves, Spykee and crew have created a space where real music lovers can go and enjoy something different. And so, every month I’ll be showcasing some of the artists that have had the greatest impact on both myself, and the communities I represent.

So to kick things off, in honor of the recent passing of the late, great, Chick Corea, I’ve prepared a special set entirely of songs inspired by his legendary catalogue.

The EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA) comes into force tomorrow on 21 November, almost a decade after negotiations began.

Launched amidst the 2008-2009 Global Financial Crisis, and coming into force in today’s uncertain global economy, the EUSFTA signals the EU and Singapore’s shared conviction that open and global rules-based trade is the path to growth and prosperity.

The EUSFTA enhances market access for our businesses into the EU markets. Companies big and small, including SMEs, will benefit from tariff elimination, reduced technical barriers to trade, and increased access to services and procurement markets.

The agreement is an important addition to Singapore’s extensive network of FTAs, which has enabled our businesses to capitalise on opportunities in diverse markets. We hope it will lead eventually to an EU-ASEAN FTA, enhancing region-to-region connectivity between the EU — the world’s largest single market, and ASEAN — the fourth largest economic bloc, by 2030.
