อิสราเอล ประเทศแรก ๆ ที่กำลังจะเอาชนะ โรคระบาด /โดย ลงทุนแมน
ถ้าหากพูดถึงประเทศที่ควบคุมการระบาดของโควิด 19 ได้ดีในตอนนี้
ประเทศหนึ่งที่ต้องพูดถึง ก็คงเป็น “อิสราเอล”
อิสราเอล เป็นประเทศที่มีสัดส่วนพลเมืองเข้ารับวัคซีนมากที่สุดในโลกขณะนี้
และเมื่อวันที่ 18 เมษายน ที่ผ่านมา รัฐบาลอิสราเอล ก็อนุญาตให้พลเมืองไม่ต้องใส่หน้ากากอนามัยออกนอกบ้านกันได้แล้ว
จากข้อมูลล่าสุด มีพลเมืองในอิสราเอลมากกว่า 61.7% เข้ารับวัคซีนแล้ว 1 โดส
และฉีดครบ 2 โดสแล้ว คิดเป็น 57.4% ของประชากรทั้งประเทศที่ประมาณ 9 ล้านคน
หรือพูดได้ว่า อิสราเอล น่าจะเป็นประเทศแรก ๆ ของโลก ที่สามารถสร้าง Herd Immunity หรือภูมิคุ้มกันหมู่ให้กับคนในประเทศได้ (ซึ่งจะเกิดขึ้นเมื่อประชาชนในประเทศได้รับวัคซีนครบ 2 โดส อย่างน้อย 70-90% ของประชากร จากการคาดการณ์ขององค์การอนามัยโลก)

อิสราเอลเป็นประเทศที่ตั้งอยู่ในแถบตะวันออกกลาง

โดยอิสราเอลมีเขตแดนติดกับหลายประเทศในตะวันออกกลาง คือ เลบานอน ซีเรีย และจอร์แดน
และพื้นที่บางส่วนทางทิศตะวันตกเฉียงใต้อยู่ติดกับคาบสมุทรไซนาย ของประเทศอียิปต์
อิสราเอล ถือเป็นประเทศหนึ่งจากเอเชีย ที่มีระดับการพัฒนาทางเศรษฐกิจค่อนข้างสูง เทียบได้กับประเทศพัฒนาแล้วอย่างประเทศในแถบยุโรปหรือสหรัฐอเมริกา
ในปี 2019 อิสราเอลมีมูลค่า GDP เท่ากับ 12.1 ล้านล้านบาท เมื่อหารด้วยจำนวนประชากรประมาณ 9 ล้านคน รายได้เฉลี่ยต่อหัวของประชากร เท่ากับ 1.3 ล้านบาทต่อปี สูงเป็นอันดับที่ 19 ของโลก
จุดที่เรียกว่าเด่นมาก ๆ ของอิสราเอล
คือการให้ความสำคัญกับการค้นคว้าและวิจัย (R&D) ของประเทศอย่างมาก
โดยในปี 2018 งบประมาณด้าน R&D มีสัดส่วนสูงถึง 4.95% ของ GDP ประเทศ
ซึ่งสูงที่สุดในโลกในปีนั้น จากการจัดอันดับของ World Bank
การให้ความสำคัญกับด้าน R&D กลายเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญ
ที่ส่งผลให้อิสราเอล กลายเป็นประเทศที่มีความก้าวหน้าสูง
ในด้านนวัตกรรมวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
เมื่อบวกกับการที่ประเทศมีประชากรน้อย ซึ่งทำให้ตลาดของพวกเขานั้นเล็กมาก
DNA ในการทำธุรกิจของคนในอิสราเอล จึงเป็นการ “Think Global” หรือจะทำอะไรทั้งที ทั้งภาครัฐและผู้ประกอบการของอิสราเอลต้องคิดใหญ่ไปสู่ระดับโลกเลย
แล้วมีอะไรบ้างของอิสราเอลในวันนี้ ที่ก้าวไปสู่ระดับโลก ?
- เป็นประเทศที่มีจำนวนบริษัท Startup มากกว่า 6,000 บริษัท มากที่สุดเป็นอันดับ 2 ของโลก รองจากสหรัฐอเมริกา
- เป็นประเทศที่มีจำนวนบริษัทจดทะเบียนในตลาดหุ้น Nasdaq มากที่สุดอันดับ 3 รองจากสหรัฐอเมริกาและจีน
- เป็นศูนย์กลางการค้าเพชรและอัญมณีของโลก โดยมีตลาดกลางค้าเพชรที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก ตั้งอยู่ที่กรุงเทลอาวีฟ เมืองท่าสำคัญของประเทศ
- เป็นที่ตั้งของศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนานวัตกรรมของบริษัทข้ามชาติมากกว่า 530 บริษัท เช่น IBM, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Google, Johnson & Johnson
แต่อิสราเอลก็ไม่ได้มีความโดดเด่นเพียงแค่ด้านนวัตกรรมวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีเพียงเท่านั้น อุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวของอิสราเอล ก็ถือว่ามีความสำคัญต่อเศรษฐกิจของประเทศด้วยเช่นกัน
- ปี 2009 จำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติที่มาอิสราเอลเท่ากับ 2.7 ล้านคน
- ปี 2019 จำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติที่มาอิสราเอลเท่ากับ 4.6 ล้านคน
จึงทำให้ประเทศเล็ก ๆ อย่างอิสราเอลนั้น มีนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติประมาณ 50% ของจำนวนประชากรทั้งประเทศ
ในปี 2019 นิตยสาร Forbes จัดอันดับให้กรุงเทลอาวีฟ ติดอันดับ 1 ใน 20 เมืองของโลกที่เป็นจุดหมายปลายทางของนักท่องเที่ยว
โดยมีเมืองสำคัญอย่าง เทลอาวีฟ (Tel Aviv) ที่ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นเมืองสำคัญทางเศรษฐกิจและการค้าเพชรของอิสราเอลเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นเมืองที่มีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ วัฒนธรรมรวม และเป็นที่ตั้งของสถาปัตยกรรมที่สวยงามของประเทศอีกด้วย
ในปี 2019 ประเทศอิสราเอลมีรายได้จากการท่องเที่ยวกว่า 207,000 ล้านบาท ขณะที่อุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวนั้น มีการสร้างงานไม่ต่ำกว่า 230,000 ตำแหน่ง หรือประมาณ 6% ของจำนวนแรงงานทั้งประเทศ
รัฐบาลอิสราเอลพยายามโปรโมตอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวของประเทศ เพื่อเพิ่มรายได้ให้แก่ประเทศ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น
- การดำน้ำที่ไอลัต (Eilat) เมืองทางตอนใต้ของอิสราเอล ที่ถือเป็นสถานที่ดำน้ำระดับโลกที่นักดำน้ำทั่วโลกใฝ่ฝัน โดยแต่ละปีจะมีนักดำน้ำมาที่นี่กว่า 250,000 คน
- การท่องเที่ยวเชิงการแพทย์ (Medical Tourism) ซึ่งอิสราเอลนั้น ถือเป็นหนึ่งในประเทศที่มีความก้าวหน้าทางด้านการแพทย์อย่างมาก จนสามารถดึงดูดคนไข้จากต่างประเทศให้เข้ามารักษาที่นี่ได้ สร้างรายได้เข้าประเทศปีละเป็นหลักหมื่นล้านบาท
แน่นอนว่า การระบาดของโควิด 19 ในปี 2020 ที่ผ่านมา สร้างผลกระทบอย่างหนักต่ออุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยว รวมทั้งเศรษฐกิจของประเทศอิสราเอล
GDP ของอิสราเอลหดตัวลง 2.4% ซึ่งแม้จะดูเหมือนไม่มากเมื่อเทียบกับหลายประเทศ แต่การหดตัวของ GDP ในครั้งนี้ของอิสราเอล เป็นการติดลบที่รุนแรงที่สุดนับตั้งแต่ประเทศประกาศเอกราชเมื่อปี 1948 เลยทีเดียว
วิกฤติโรคระบาดครั้งนี้ ยังทำให้อัตราการว่างงานในประเทศพุ่งสูงกว่า 15% ในช่วงที่ประเทศมีมาตรการล็อกดาวน์ หลายธุรกิจต้องปิดตัวลงชั่วคราวและถาวร
อย่างไรก็ตาม ปี 2021 นี้ ก็มีการคาดการณ์กันว่า
เศรษฐกิจของอิสราเอลจะกลับมาเติบโตอย่างโดดเด่นจากปีที่แล้ว
ซึ่งหนึ่งในปัจจัยสำคัญคือ การเร่งฉีดวัคซีนป้องกันการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด 19
วันนี้อิสราเอลเป็นประเทศที่มีอัตราการฉีดวัคซีนต่อจำนวนประชากร สูงเป็นอันดับต้น ๆ ของโลก
และถ้าถามว่าประเทศไหนที่เอาชนะโรคระบาดได้สมบูรณ์ที่สุดก่อนใคร

🚢Late Tuesday, ships were again moving through the Suez Canal, a day after engineers freed the Ever Given, a 1,300-foot container ship, and cleared the waterway for global traffic. Osama Rabie, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, which runs the 120-mile shipping route, said at a press conference that 113 ships had crossed in both directions since the route reopened late Monday, and another 95 are expected to pass through in the evening, up from the typical 50 or so daily passages.

Port authorities are girding for a flood of arrivals as diverted ships and delayed Suez vessels arrive on top of regularly scheduled traffic.

The world was already suffering from a shortage of these boxes, and the Suez blockage has temporarily made them more scarce.
