We met in Hong Kong some 10 years ago, specially arranged by @dicoverHongKong when I was filming my halal food travelogue called “Serimas Selera Dunia”.

As a HK superstar known for her big diaphragm (a great vocalist she is) & countless movies + cookery shows under her belt in her homeland and around Asia, I was really blown away by her humility, friendliness and genuine funny personality she accorded me and my production team. She personally guided me through all the great places: from the wet markets, restaurants, street hawkers, etc. eating and sharing the scrumptious halal dishes Hong Kong is so proud to offer.

After 10+ years, we met again at the recent Grandeur & Elegante International Business Awards 2017/2018 but she couldn’t recognize me. A little disappointing at first but when I showed her our old photo together, immediately she said “aiyaaa...of course I couldn’t recognize you laaa. You’ve lost weight but I gained”! We then burst into a big, long & of course very loud laughter 😂😂🤪🤪

Halal: Miso-Ramen No Pork, No Alcohol 1000 yen

Halal refers to the dietary habits (standards of cooking ingredients) in the Muslim culture, which does not include pork or alcohol. Ramen Sapporo Ikkobu-an is making Sapporo miso ramen with ingredients without pork or sake, and welcomes travelers from all over the world as a Muslim friendly restaurant.

From 2020, refined taste and newly launched. This menu has a low calorie (estimated value: 750 Kcal), which is 15-20% calorie-off compared to our miso ramen, so it has been well received by local OLs.

Homemade sticky noodles. Miso brewed with 100% Hokkaido ingredients. We offer local miso ramen with local production for local consumption, such as scallops from Hokkaido.

This is also made with No-Pork. No-Alchol. It has been well received as Halal Food.

Like sobayu soup, pure white soup is a soup based on cream made from Hokkaido soybeans. We use Akita's traditional recipe, "Shottsuru," as a secret ingredient, and collect seasonal seafood such as oysters, scallops, and shrimp from Hokkaido as much as possible, and use EXV olive oil to create an Ahijo style. Ramen to taste for the first time! Please try our original dishes.

Located in front of Sapporo Station, Ramen Sapporo Ichigoen is just a short walk from JR Sapporo Station, right above Sapporo Station on the Toho Line. You can use the elevator from the subway station for barrier-free access.

I'd never heard of the city of Varanasi before travelling to it. In retrospect, it seems quite ignorant of me because the city is an absolute wonder. It's known as the spiritual capital of India and the energy here was charged with it.

I don't pretend to understand the Hindu religion very well, but it was eye opening to hear and see the religion manifested through various ceremonies, ritual and even when having basic conversations with people on the street. Everyone seemed to be in tune with the same energy.

Falling for the city happened quickly. The views were remarkable, the people nothing but kind and helpful, and the ambient charged with positive vibes. It's a city I truly will never forget.

The morning starts off waking up on the train travelling to Varanasi from Kolkata. Amazed I successfully slept the whole night on the train. It was surprisingly more comfortable than I anticipated.

Decided to try and brush my teeth in the bathrooms and was greeted to a surprise. hehe. But at least my teeth are clean!

Introduced a few more travelers who were on the same journey as we were. They were a group of about 10 photographers from Malaysia who were on the same itinerary as us and who we kept bumping over the next several weeks.

We got off at Mughalsarai Junction and from there it was a straight journey to Varanasi via Rickshaw or as we called them, TukTuks! Quite a wild journey with sand and dust flying everywhere, but we made it to Varanasi in one piece.

Our hotel was awesome with a stunning view of the Ganges River. We were excited to explore so we left the hotel and went straight on the ghats.

Hidayat successfully managed to get us a really good price for a boat ride so we set off onto the Ganges to see the ghats.

After about 15 minutes the boat man started steering us towards a burning ghat. It's officially called Manikarnika Ghat but its also known as the cremation ghat as this is where the dead are burned. Very eye opening thing to see.

After that it was back to the streets to look for halal food. Eventually found a nice place but wow... their TOILET! Just see the footage. And this is where the vlog comes to an end.
