Earlier today in my little corner of sunshine for day 2 of watercolor lessons with @paronschoolofart. Today’s subject was SARDINES! Never thought I’d ever enjoy painting fish but it was surprisingly fun and came out quite pretty ☺️ I’ve always been frightened to try watercolors, preferring the steady strong strokes of a pen drawing. This new medium is somewhat of a leap of faith for me, and am practicing “letting go” and allowing the paint and water to do their thing on the paper. Accidents turn into the most unexpected beautiful moments. Maybe I should be “letting go” of other things in life more and make room for the unexpected and unplanned. ☺️

We made a OREO charm using almost entirely material from the 100 yen shop! We're not great at drawing so we colored into decals. You can enjoy creating cheap DIY's thanks to 100 yen shops like Cando or Daiso. We live in blessed times!
We received a comment that said that MosoGourmet seem to only make food crafts, but recently we've been getting the itch to get into things such as sewing and other handicrafts!
*Recipe*
1. Cut the plastic molds from Cando into 5cm squares, write the direction of the plate, and do a test bake. It is convenient to know the characteristics of the board because it shrinks and warps differently depending on them.
2. Mark it with masking tape so that you can see the vertical and horizontal directions and the front and back of the mold.
3. Cut the mold. If you want to make several, make the design face the same direction. The mold should be neatly shrunk by now.
4. File the entire surface so that the back of the mold is curved, with a #400 file from Daiso.
5. When the entire unit becomes white, remove any debris with a wet tissue.
6. When the plastic base has dried, use a pencil to trace onto pattern paper the face that was filed down.
7. Color in with color pencils. This time, we used a watercolor pen. Watercolor pencils are sold in 12 colors at Cando and Daiso.
8. In the case of a watercolor pen, blur the color with a brush (from Daiso) containing a small amount of water (Daiso also sells paint plates). It ’s okay as it is.
9. Cut a little inside the frame with scissors or a cutter.
10. Bake in a preheated toaster oven for about 2 minutes. Put it on the oven sheet (colored side up) and keep it in the oven toaster, keeping an eye on it while it shrinks. When it stops shrinking, take a breath and take it out the oven sheet.
11. Place it on a hard, flat surface that is resistant to heat and press it with a metal tray. Be careful, it's hot!
12.Make the shrink plastic colored OREO cookie and vanilla cream in the same way. We made a vanilla cream-colored one a little smaller.
13. When it cools down, apply your favorite top coat. This time, we used a water-based topcoat spray (a matte "Mr.hobby"). When it dries up, spray it on the back side (the colored side) to prevent discoloration.
14. Attach your favorite accessories. This time, we drilled holes in it with a hand drill (from Cando) and a pin vice, and attached a crab that I bought at Daiso. Round-nosed pliers and finger holders can be purchased at a 100 yen shop.
15. All done. We'd like to make it again!

大好きなオレオのキーホルダーを作りました。まだまだ修行が足りませんが、ほぼ100均アイテムで作れるプラバン工作、楽しいです。（クッキングシート使用上の注意 https://www.lion.co.jp/ja/products/246 ）

*レシピ*
１．プラバン（キャンドゥ）は５センチ四方に切り、板の方向を書き込んで試し焼きをする。板によって縦横の縮み方、反り方が異なるので、その板の性格を知っておくと便利です。
２．プラバンの縦横の方向と表裏が、わかるようにマスキングテープなどで印を付ける。
３．プラバンを切る。いくつか作る場合はデザインの縦横を同じ方向にする。プラバンの縮み方が揃ってきれいに仕上がる。
４．プラバンの表裏を400番のヤスリ（ダイソー）でくるくると全面ヤスル。
５．全体が白くなったらウエットティッシュなどでゴミを落とす。
６．プラバンが乾いたら、裏面にオレオの形を写す。
７．色鉛筆で着色する。今回、水彩色鉛筆を使いました。水彩色鉛筆はキャンドゥとダイソーで12色入りが売られていました。
８．水彩色鉛筆の場合は、少量の水（絵具皿はダイソー）を含ませた筆（ダイソー）で色をぼやかしてもよい。濃くしたいときは乾かないうちに水彩色鉛筆で書き足す。そのままでも大丈夫です。
９．ハサミやカッターを使って枠のほんの少し内側を切る。
１０．2分ほど予熱したオーブントースターで焼く。オーブンシートにのせ、オーブントースターに入れると数秒で縮んでくるので目を離さないこと。縮むのが止まったら一呼吸おいてオーブンシートごと取り出す。（クッキングシート使用上の注意 https://www.lion.co.jp/ja/products/246 ）
１１．熱に強い、固く平らな物の上に置き、金属のバットなどでプレスする。熱いので気をつけて！
１２．オレオクッキー色とバニラクリーム色に着色したプラバンも同様に作る。バニラクリーム色のプラバンは一周り小さく作りました。
１３．冷めたらお好みのトップコートをする。今回は水性トップコートスプレー（GSIの つや消し）をしました。乾いたら裏面（色鉛筆面）にもスプレーし色落ちを防ぐ。
１４．好みのアクセサリーパーツを付ける。今回はハンドドリル（キャンドゥ）やピンバイスで穴を空け、ダイソーで買ったカニカンを付けました。ラジオペンチや指かん（ダイソー）も100円ショップで買うことができます。
１４．でけた。次はもっと頑張りたい。

タイダイが今っぽい♡ちっちゃなちっちゃな豆本


【What You Need】
Tie-dye dye
・ Half a paper
・ Watercolor paint
・water
・paper cup

Miniature book
・ 15-20 sheets of text paper (100 x 35 mm)
・ Two colored paper (100 x 35mm)
・ Cover paper (130 × 50mm)
・ Cover for cover (54 × 37mm)
・ Back cover paper (5 × 37mm)
・ String for bookmarks (thin ribbon is acceptable) 65mm
・tape
・bond
・ Brush
・clip


[Steps]
① Dye the cover with tie dye.
1. Fold half a paper cut in half. Fold both sides in half outward.
2. Fold the outsides into a triangle and zigzag inwards to make a small triangle.
3. Add water and paint in a paper cup and make 3 dark colored water cups.
4. Place the corners of the half paper folded in a triangle on the colored water.
5. Gently spread the paper and let it dry completely.
6. Cut so that it covers the paper size. Cut the corners so that they fit into the frame.

② Make the inside of the book
1. Apply a thin layer of bond to the edge of the dyed cover and place the paper on top. Fold it over and paste it.
2. Fold the main body paper in half and paste the folded paper on the first and last pages.
3. Clip the part without the bond with a clip and dry it.
4. Affix the strap to the back of the book with tape.
5. Completed by applying a thin bond at the border between the cover and the cover sheet and pasting the text sheet.


この夏のトレンド、タイダイをDIY!
その工程は意外に簡単。
今回は豆本にアレンジしてみました。

【材料】
タイダイ染め
・半紙
・水彩絵の具
・水
・紙コップ

豆本
・本文用紙（100×35mm）15〜20枚
・見返し用色紙（100×35mm）2枚
・表紙用紙（130×50mm）
・表紙用厚紙（54×37mm）
・背表紙用紙（5×37mm）
・しおり用の紐（細めのリボンでも可）約65mm
・テープ
・ボンド
・筆
・クリップ


【作り方】
①タイダイ染めで表紙を染める。
1. 1/4に切った半紙を、半分に折る。両側をそれぞれ外側に半分に折る。
2. 三角形にジグザグに蛇腹折りする。
3. 紙コップに水と絵の具を入れ、濃いめの色水を3つ作る。
4. 三角形に折った半紙の角を色水にそれぞれつける。
5. 半紙をそっと広げ、完全に乾かす。
6. 表紙用紙の大きさに切る。角は見返しの大きさに合わせて額縁になるように切っておく。

②豆本の本体をつくる
1. 染めた表紙の縁に薄めたボンドを塗り、見返し用紙を上に乗せる。見返しを折って貼り付ける。
2. 本文用紙を半分に折って重ね、最初と最後のページに同じく折った見返し用紙を貼り付ける。
3. ボンドが付いてない部分をクリップでとめて、乾かす。
4. 本誌の背の部分に栞用の紐をテープで貼り付ける。
5. 表紙の見返しと見返し用紙の境に薄めたボンドを塗り、本文用紙を貼り付けて完成。

A small experiment I did with my Copic markers. I had a small set of them (mostly blues and skin-tones) for shading hand-drawn storyboards but recently bought a few more to make a simple basic-colors set.

I tried painting a scenery picture with them, with no lines - in a style similar to Japanese woodblock prints or no-line watercolor paintings. This is only my first try so Im excited about getting to know the markers better.
