Ep. 8. Abashiri

ฮอกไกโดเป็นพื้นที่ที่อยู่ต่ำที่สุดของซีกโลกเหนือ ที่สามารถชมธารน้ำแข็ง (Drift Ice) ในทะเล Okhotsk ได้ โดยธารน้ำแข็งเหล่านี้จะเคลื่อนที่ลงมาจากบริเวณ Arctic & Antarctic Circle จนมาถึงชายฝั่งของฮอกไกโดในช่วงปลายเดือนมกราคมจนถึงมีนาคม (พีคที่สุดในช่วงกลางเดือนกุมภาพันธ์)

เมือง Abashiri ตั้งอยู่ทางตอนเหนือของ Eastern Hokkaido และมีชายฝั่งติดกับทะเล Okhotsk (โอค็อตสค์) จึงเป็นหนึ่งในสถานที่ที่ได้รับความนิยมในการมามาชมธารน้ำแข็งเหล่านี้ในช่วงฤดูหนาวของทุกปี

ในปี 2014 ผมและเพื่อนๆเดินทางมาที่เมือง Abashiri เพื่อชมความอลังการของธารน้ำแข็งที่เค้าว่ากันว่าต้องมาชมให้ได้สักครั้งในชีวิต

..พวกเรามาถึงที่ท่าเรือ Aurora ด้วยความตื่นเต้น
จ่ายเงินซื้อตั๋วเรียบร้อยก็มายืนรอขึ้นเรือกัน สายตามองไปรอบๆ

อืมม... ก็พอจะมีเศษก้อนน้ำแข็งลอยแบบหงอยๆอยู่ริมชายฝั่งอยู่นะ

"มันน่าจะอยู่กลางทะเลนะ เรือแล่นออกไปสักพักคงได้เห็น" พวกเราคิดในใจ

...หลังจากเรือแล่นออกมาจากฝั่งสักพัก สิ่งที่พวกเราได้เห็นก็คือทะเลสีน้ำเงินที่แสนเวิ้งว้าง ไม่ปรากฏก้อนน้ำแข็งใดๆในระยะสายตา..
"อนิจจาโลกร้อนสินะ น้ำแข็งมันถึงละลายไปหมด !!"
"หรือว่าธารน้ำแข็งลืมเข้ากลุ่มไลน์ เลยไม่มาตามนัด !?"

"ทะเลสวยดีนะ" อืมม...

อากาศหนาวระดับ -10++ และลมทะเลพัดแรงโกรกใส่ตลอดเวลา
5 นาทีผ่านไป พวกเราก็ขอยอมแพ้ กลับไปนั่งหลบอยู่ภายในเรือ ใกล้ๆเตาผิงอุ่นๆน่าจะดีกว่า TT

ธารน้ำแข็งที่เห็น ไม่อยากจะเรียกว่าธาร เรียกว่าเศษน้ำแข็งน่าจะดีกว่า ถ้าเอามาทำบิงซู แจกนักท่องเที่ยวที่มาบนเรือก็น่าจะหมดพอดี 55+

เอาไว้มาแก้มือใหม่!
ใครจะเดินทางมาเที่ยวที่นี่ อย่าลืมเช็คสภาพอากาศและนัดกลุ่มไลน์ธารน้ำแข็งให้ดีว่าเค้าจะมาแน่ ^^"
ไม่งั้นมาเสียเที่ยวแล้วจะหาว่าแอดไม่เตือน !!

"nobody told me we're wearing red today". The Team in #Antarctica filming what you'll be seeing next month on Discovery Channel Southeast Asia. If you look closely you can see our icebreaker ship in the icy cloud soup of a background. And an iceberg. Both not too close together thankfully.

For the fourth time in four days our activists in intercept the Nordica. Activists aboard inflatables unfurled banners & 14 swimmers from Germany, New Zealand, Sweden and Denmark braved the early morning cold to swim in front of the ship, stopping it from reaching the Arctic. 宗谷（そうや）は、海上保安庁の砕氷船。巡視船としての船番号は PL107。前身の大日本帝国海軍特務艦時代も含めて昭和期の多くの歴史的事件に関わり、特に1956年から1962年まで南極観測船（初代）を務め日本の南極観測事業の礎を築いたことで広く知られる。

海上保安庁の船としては現存する唯一の保存船で、現存する数少ない（見方によっては唯一の）帝国海軍艦船でもある。（ 三笠は、ワシントン海軍軍縮条約によって軍艦籍から除かれた後、岸壁に固定され「工作物」の扱いとなっている。）
Soya is an icebreaker of the Japan Coast Guard. She is a patrol boat and her ship number is PL107. He was involved in many historical events in the Showa period, including the predecessor of the Imperial Japanese Navy, and laid the foundation for Japan's Antarctic research project, especially as an Antarctic research ship (first generation) from 1956 to 1962. Widely known.

She is also one of the few (and only, by view) Imperial Japanese Navy vessels in existence. (Mikasa was removed from the warship by the Washington Naval Treaty, and she was fixed on the quay and treated as a "workpiece.")
