Beauty with a Purpose at Laguna Phuket
First Runners up of Miss World & Miss World Thailand start a Happy New Year for Laguna Phuket community!
Miss World First Runner Up, Nicolene Pichapa Boonchoo and Miss World Thailand 2018 First Runner up Praewwanit Ruangthong, had a special start to their New Year in world-renowned, integrated beach resort, Laguna Phuket. The titleholders stayed at Laguna Phuket’s brand new Cassia Phuket resort and participated in thoroughly enjoyable activities to promote the breath taking Phuket islands and their culture. Phuketindex.com report that
“Nicolene and Praewwanit also visited facilities within Laguna Phuket and delightedly experienced the beauty and conveniences the resort has to offer, amidst its tropical parkland scenery, along the pristine Bangtao Beach…Every Friday, Laguna Phuket guests can volunteer at the Kindergarten in Happy Friday – Stay for Good activities. Here they read and/or serve lunch to the students.”
Nicolene and Praewwanit were keen to meet the kindergarten children. Nicolene read them stories in English, while Praew translated. Phuketindex.com state,
“They were impressed that there is a kindergarten hidden in the 1,000-acre resort complex, providing free education for children, of the resort’s associates and community members, for more than 25 years. Nicolene and Praew spent hours reading stories to Laguna Phuket Kindergarten students, all the while inspiring them with beauty, wit and kindness.”
Their kindness, interacting and communication skills demonstrated with the children probably comes from the experience Nicolene has gained from her charity Love For All. Love For All assists autistic and underprivileged children in Thailand. One of her goals is to set up a specialist school for autistic children. Her brother, who is autistic, inspired her charity. Nicolene states, "My passion is giving back and helping people with fewer opportunities. I believe that, as a society, it is our responsibility to help those in need and to start through self-empowerment.”
Laguna Phuket Managing Director, Ravi Chandran, reported on Nicolene and Praewwanit’s visit, “Khun Nicolene really touched us with her enthusiasm for charitable causes and helping the less fortunate. This is something Laguna Phuket has been leading for 30 years, with all our charity and foundation works.”
Laguna Phuket will host its 27th annual Children’s Day Celebration on Saturday 12 January, 8am-12pm at Laguna Grove in the heart of the resort. Everyone is welcome. Entry is free.
