Faith Declaration: God’s Angels Guard Me in All My Ways
A wrong belief: “I wish Jesus would come down from Heaven and walk beside me to keep me safe. I feel so vulnerable down here on earth.”
“no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.” (Psalms 91:10-13 WEB)
Today, the Lord brought me back to Psalm 91 to teach me about the part about angels and the assistance that they render to us.
We are not left defenseless here on earth. You are protected from enemies, accidents, and sicknesses “for He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways”.
Angels (plural; not just one angel) are actively guarding you in your daily walk. Look how attentive they are—they bear you up such that you will not even dash your feet against a stone.
All this fantastic protective service is happening in the realm that is invisible to us. Angels clearing the way for us, assisting in times of trouble, and ministering to us, according to God’s command.
We are precious children of God, and as royalty, we have the most powerful defenders with us every day. They are invisible to us, but they are still around. We walk by faith, not by sight—we must believe God’s word.
How do you tread on the lion and the cobra? This is impossible with God’s intervention because if you approach these animals in the wild, they will attack you.
It can only be because our guardian angels are restraining these beasts, preventing them from harming us.
Think about Daniel who was cast into the lion’s den. An angel of the Lord had shut the lions’ mouths and stood in between so that they would not harm Daniel, even though the powerful beasts were starving.
“Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever. My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, I have done no hurt. Then was the king exceeding glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.” (Daniel 6:21-23 WEB)
Think about the apostle Paul who was bitten by the snake after arriving on the island of Malta, and yet, the poison did not even affect him. Paul simply shook the snake off into the fire, and this became a powerful testimony to the island natives that the Jesus that Paul serves is truly God. Could Paul’s guardian angels have somehow disabled the snake’s venom before it was allowed to bite him?
In both Daniel and Paul’s situations, they were allowed to experience the appearance of danger, but the supernatural protection became powerful testimonies to glorify God.
In Daniel’s case, King Darius witnessed God’s power and wrote a decree which glorified God. In Paul’s case, the natives living on Malta were healed and saved, and the name of Jesus was greatly magnified.
God allows the semblance of danger at times so that He can swoop in at the right time with an amazing deliverance, to bring forth salvations and the furtherance of the Gospel.
God’s angels are assigned to protect His people. One-third of all created angels joined Lucifer in rebelling against God many years ago (Revelation 12:3-4), but the great news is that there are still two-thirds of angels who are on God’s side. There are more holy angels with us than there are demons against us.
Every day, I confess with my family, “Your angels guard us in all our ways.” No matter where you are and what you are doing, be conscious that you are so protected and loved by God!
A new faith declaration: “God’s angels guard me in all my ways. I am so loved and protected. God is for me, so I will tread and trample over all obstacles and enemies.”
I want to end off by sharing a powerful testimony about angelic protection from one of our patrons on Patreon. This is what the photo collage below is about:
“I was in a big accident 2017: a semi truck hit us at fast speed (trucks here are undisciplined), and I was also driving fast but it was a resident area. The truck tumbled (but those guys were ok), our car spun, I blacked out for seconds and when I opened my eyes my car was on the sidewalk. I sustained no wounds at all. My daughter was even in the car. I got dizzy but really no injuries, even though my car was wrecked. I always tell people that God helped because I prayed under my breath when I saw the truck in my face, but now I realized God did send His angels when I blacked out for those seconds…something did happen. Truly Psalm 91 never changes. Indeed, God's angels who are faster than lightning adjusted my car and kept us safe.” - Jema
Keep studying God’s word and growing in your understanding of His ways. Our Patreon community is currently on a Bible study series called “My Faith Declarations” which looks at the Spirit-inspired utterances of the authors of the Psalms. They wrote about the trials and tribulations they experienced, so the book of Psalms is very relatable.
By turning their faith declarations into our own, we can learn how to overcome similar circumstances in life through faith in the Lord! Become a “God Every Morning” tier or above patron on Patreon to receive this reward, daily devotionals by email, and also all my eBooks. 活在當下也能擁有未來的目標
Translation: @benkongenglish
.
.
The student was sceptical “Shouldn’t we plan for the future and go after our goals other than living in the moment?”
.
My answer is affirmative.
No doubt you can make plans for the trip next week or the selection next year, but these are all just part of “live in the moment”.
We can only plan for the future of this moment when we make plans at this moment.
The planned future may come true if everything goes accordingly.
It may not if our heart or other external factors change.
I would like to illustrate it with two examples:
.
Looking at 101 in Taipei and setting it as the target, it guided every step of us towards its direction.
Turn left or right when there’s a dead end.
It’s impossible to reach 101 simply by walking straight
We may be able to reach 101, and also, we may be attracted to a cozy cafe and decide to stay for a coffee and read a book.
When we look back at the trip, the essence of travelling lies in the things happened.
The planning of the trip is only an activity and fun.
.
Another example is from me.
I work out a lot.
I used to simply working out. It’s easy and enjoyable.
Fame came.
Ecstatic, I set a higher goal for myself.
I train even harder. Time and sports become a burden and source of stress.
My muscles were strained, forcing me to stop training for a few months.
.
Now I expect myself to finish every set efficiently.
It’s good to have time to work out.
If the time for sports is occupied by other stuff, I will enjoy doing that stuff.
Looking back at my experience, I found so many enjoyments.
It became the fruits of my experience, which made me who I am today.
Do not let future overshadow this moment.
The contentment of the moment is our best mentor.

ANAMNESIS
“Apart from language and values, what truly connects HongKongers is suffering”, says Brian Leung Kai-ping who stormed Legco on July 1st, 2019.
Anamnesis – the chasm between forgetting and remembering; the perplexity and helplessness when suffering is recalled. Bombarded with an abundance of information every day, there had been simply too much to remember in 2019. While obscure memories struggle to stay, our minds remain blank the next day when we wake up, as if everything were just a – “dream”.
As a sense of hopelessness grows with time, recollecting all the scenes that we saw and the feelings that we had over the past year may do us more harm than good – it’s our instinct to evade misery. Now we are often benumbed by the false sense of peace in the society. Our sensations and throbs are gradually becoming blurry bits and pieces of history in our heads like parallel universes.
This exhibition showcases some out-of-focus images taken last year, presenting histories that may “be disappeared”, while conveying the bewilderment when reminiscence hits hard. How, after all, do we live with our nastiest wounds?

Okay, for about 12 years almost, I haven’t had Banh Bot Loc. It’s literally my most favorite thing to eat ever! I was promised this the moment I landed and it took me until my last week to finally get to eat it. I have never been more happy. I love food!!! And my face surely shows it.
Everyday I do nothing but eat lmaooo. I’ve gained almost 10lbs on this trip and my face shows it. But this is a good thing! When I return from my trip, I’ll be sure to make a video on weight loss (:
