元旦から日本の正月の雰囲気を残しつつ、少しゆっくりしようと思って、、また何か新たに？ で、いつもストラトを使う事が多いので、１、２、３、４日はずーっと６７年の３３５を弾いていました。そこで今年はソロ・ギターのライヴにもチャレンジしたいのでソロギターとしての映像を作りました。
全体にルバート（テンポゆったり）で始めて、少しずつグルーヴ感（リズム）を出してジャズブルースへと。ここで多くの人から「何のスケールを使かってる？」と質問があると思いますが、実際は、「コードの流れを知ってるか？知らないか？」が一番大事です。
大きくここでは、シンプルな３コードのブルース、そしてジャズブルースの進行。このあたりは、僕の演奏能力開発エクササイズのDVD１でも詳しくリズムギターをR３７のコードでやっています。このあたり凄く重要ですね。ブルースの部分ではシンプルなフレーズを使ったブルースフィーリング（ベンドやビブラートも含めて）が大事で、ジャズの部分はコード感が大事なのでまずはトライアドで例えば、Bb、G、C－、Fとか弾けるか？１２３弦でやってみるのも良いです。なのでスケールに頼らないでまずはもっとシンプルな物から攻めて、土台作りをすることが良いのです。いかがでしょうか？
Japanese's New Year Day is like our Christmas week...so people (in Japan) are just hanging out through 1/1 to 1/4 or entire week! So my tradition is "not work' that week. but you know me... I wanted to do something somehow productive. So I decided to revisit my '67 ES335. I always play my strats so.... I played this ES335 from 1/1 to 1/4 all day!!! And I thought I make some videos so that I will learn something.... Only way to improve is to RECORD YOURSELF" so I did. I made many videos with my iPhone. This is Bb blues , Bb Jazz blues. Most people want to ask "What scales" To me it's more important to understand about song form, chord changes than scales. You can check my AYGP dvd, this dvd include how to play Bb Blues to Bb Jazz Blues using Root 3rd 7th voicing. Be able to play these chords and be able to play simple blues feeling, maybe triads over Bb G C- F? can you play them on 123 set strings? ... are more important than scales. Basically it's all about making your strong foundation is very important. What do you think?

This is the first piano solo piece that I compose. It’s actually for my assignment, hope you enjoy it?
The piano solo piece “ Miss You in the Rain” is about the feeling of nostalgia and missing someone. When it starts to rain, the feeling of melancholy emerges. Then, the music starts smoothly just like the rain. The music uses a lot of borrowed chords from minor key, to express the feeling of melancholy. The three continuous similar or same quaver notes(e.g. bar 11, 12,31) simulate the sound of raindrops.
When the rain becomes heavier and heavier, so does the emotion, thus the music gets faster and louder. The music gradually changes to minor key, indicating negative emotion arising, but is resisted and refused. The emotion gets stronger and stronger and is finally vented through the explosive piano glissando sound.
Everything stops. The rain takes away the emotion slowly and quietly, just like the music, becoming softer and going on with a higher pitch, sounding like it is getting further and further. When the music stops, the rain stops.
