I had some days that weren’t my best ones because I felt stuck, or worse, went backwards. I wanted to be happy all the time, and when I didn’t, it feels wrong and made me feel even more frustrated.
But you know what? It’s okay not to be okay, especially right now when it’s certainly been a tough period for many of us. We all have good and bad days, and that is just human.
I’m happy when @thekindfriend reached out to me because I’ve read how journaling is an incredible stress management tool as well as a powerful method to practice gratitude.
Writing about our painful emotions helps us release the intensity of these feelings, and manage them in a healthy way.
Also, gratitude takes practice just like any other skill, and writing about things we’re grateful for can help stimulate our brains to look for more things to be grateful for, which helps us to let go of negative thoughts, feel better, and have the right mindset in tackling the challenges ahead.
