A rare breakfast date with the big girl. Just cos' she deserves to have all of me to herself every once in a while.
I made a resolution earlier this year to try to spend one on one time with each of the kids. It's very challenging because of the time schedules and needs of each of them, worsened by the fact that I find it tough to ask for help to babysit just because I never like to depend on others if I can do it myself. That is also probably why the hubby and I don't go on couple dates because it is so hard for us to let go.
That said, I think this is where I ought to change because I think they will all enjoy having Mama to themselves on some days. It's like I finally don't have to divide myself into one thirds, you know what I mean?
This morning, we ate at Subway which is what she enjoys but the siblings don't. We took a stroll, we went to the playground, we did reading at Times (I read an entire Geronimo Stilton book for the first time!), we talked about her, her school, her friends, her upcoming events, her fears, her worries and everything was focused on her and her alone.
I could tell how much she enjoyed that short couple of hours and hopefully it helps to fill up her love tank as this girl likes to have quality time - something that I think she has been deprived of ever since the younger ones came along.
She didn't forget to get a small gift for her sister to let her know she hasn't been forgotten and also said that playgrounds are more fun when she has her sister and brother with her. Awww. Love you, my darling firstborn! Looking forward to our next date! ❤
