Campus tours get me excited bc the spirit of the young is on fire, their energy lifts you and reminds you of that fearless attitude you carried as a kid. One student was called out for winning their class singing competition and started singing a snippet of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” - only one of the hardest songs to sing on this planet and killed it... It made me think about my first performances in grade school when all I wanted to do was steal the mic; I nailed every audition and got every solo. But as I got older particularly in college and after, the more I shied away from the mic, the stage and a public audience. Something happened, fear, self-doubt, parental expectations, circumstances, societal standards, all that bs got in the way. But these outside factors...they get in the way only if we allow it to get IN. If you don’t believe IN yourself, you will never be able to activate all the potential that’s already INside of you. You cannot wait for fear or self doubt to be gone to grab hold of the gifts God has planted IN you already. Dig a little deeper. Shine from within bc that light will never ever dull.
