Today was the first day of PSLE.
I thought I did quite a good job by waking the big girl up, making her French Toast, braiding her hair and writing her a letter of encouragement - with her favourite Sumikko Gurashi design - to wish her all the best.
But this girl, she touches me in ways I never expect and brings joy through the little things she does. Not only does she make life happier for me, she is also my motivation to be a better, braver and stronger mum.
This afternoon, after enduring an over 4-hour wait in school due to a technical glitch during her oral exam and only having a bun and biscuit between 7am to 230pm, she came back home on her own, hungry but not whiny. I served her a big bowl of herbal chicken soup with mee sua which she ate heartily before taking a rest.
In the evening, she helped me to take care of the baby and after dinner, we watched a couple of hours of TV to relax, including AGT and Just for Laughs Gags, because I do think it's more important for her to feel happy than stressed at this point.
Before she went to bed, she wrote this sweet thank you letter for me which I totally didn't see coming and it totally melted my heart. Ironically, it's day 1 of her major exam yet she cheered and lifted me up more than what I did for her. Awwww. And I think I needed this.
Love you so much, my dear Angel. No matter what happens, you know I will always, always be proud of you. Thank you for being you.

P.S. She also dropped her molar, which is her 18th tooth, tonight too. Yup, only two more milk teeth to go and her last few visits from Tooth Fairy. This girl is growing up so fast and it's a bittersweet feeling but I am embracing every moment of seeing her mature into a fine young lady.

This combination has amazed not only the French but the Italians ever since the creation of “baba”. Since the 1900's, economists in western countries have engaged in the study the law of the cycle, and all believed that there was a long-term law in the economic growth or recession. There is noting new thing under the sun.In 1930, the American economist S. Kuznets proposed a business cycle applying to housing construction, with an average length of 20 years. This long-term cycle is known as the "Kuznets" cycle or building cycle. C Juglar, a French economist, published his Business Crisis and Cycle in France, Britain, and the United States in 1862. In this book, he pointed out that the capitalist economy fluctuated every nine to ten years, as generally called "Juglar cycle". Joseph Schumpeter took this as the "medium-term cycle", or the "Juglar cycle". All research prove the economic cycle is existing.
In the last few years, I used the name of “SiuLung” to publish my prediction. In Chinese, ‘Siu’ stands for little and “Lung” stands for dragon. So "Siulung" means modest but powerful and lofty aspirations.

【材料】
●本しめじ:5本
●醤油:大さじ1
●みりん:大さじ1
●おろし生姜
●おろしにんにく
●小麦粉:大さじ2
●コーンスターチ:大さじ2
●米油(普通の油でも大丈夫だけど油の吸収を抑えてくれるよ♪)
※衣は片栗粉でもOK
※本しめじじゃなくてもお好みのきのこでも美味しいよ♪

今回は最近ハマりにハマってる本しめじのやみつき唐揚げを作りました。
漬ける時間も油や衣の準備をしているくらいの時間で大丈夫だし
揚げ時間も凄く短いので5分くらいで出来てめちゃくちゃ良いんです♪
(今回は揚げ物用の鍋で作ってますが
フライパンで揚げ焼きで作ればもっとお手軽だと思います)
いつも片栗粉で作ってる方やお弁当のおかずに作ろうと思っている方は
小麦粉プラスコーンスターチの衣をぜひ試してみてね!
ビールのおつまみやご飯のおかずには勿論ですが
クセがないキノコなのでお子さんもきっと喜んでくれると思うし
糖質制限をされている方にも薄衣なのでオススメですよ♪
サクッとジューシーな本しめじのやみつき唐揚げ
とっても簡単なので是非一度作ってみて下さい。
めちゃくちゃハマりますよ♪
ただ思っていた以上にペロリと食べれちゃうので
少し多めに作ることをオススメします!!
今回はさすがに少なすぎました(^◇^;)w
[Ingredients]
● Hon Shimeji mushrooms: 5
● Soy sauce: 1 tablespoon
● Mirin: 1 tablespoon
● Grated ginger
● Grated garlic
● Wheat flour: 2 tablespoons
● Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
● Rice oil (regular oil will work too, but it will help reduce oil absorption ♪)
※ You can also use potato starch for the batter.
※ You can use any mushrooms you like, not just Hon Shimeji mushrooms ♪

This time I made the addictive Hon Shimeji mushrooms Karaage that I
have been addicted to lately.
You only need to soak them for as long as it takes to prepare the oil
and batter, and the frying time is very short, so you can do it in
about 5 minutes, which is really good ♪
(I used a deep-fat frying pan this time, but I think it would be even
easier if you use a frying pan for deep-frying.)
If you've always used potato starch, or if you're thinking of making
it for a side dish for lunch, you should definitely try the flour plus
cornstarch batter!
It's a great snack for beer or a side dish for rice, but I'm sure your
kids will love it too, since it's a mushroom with no peculiarities,
and it's also a good choice for people on a carbohydrate restriction
diet since it's a thin batter ♪
Deep-fried crispy and juicy shimeji mushrooms are addictive.
It is very easy to make, so please try making it at least once.
You'll be hooked ♪
I recommend making a little more than you expected!!

●お好みの牛ステーキ肉:約350g
[下味]塩麹:大さじ2、にんにく:大さじ1/2(チューブでOK)、お酒:大さじ1
●バター:20g
●醤油:大さじ2
●鶏ガラスープの素:小さじ1/2
●塩こしょう
●黒こしょう
●生にんにく:3片
●牛脂(スーパーとかに良くおいてあるよ♪)
●油:大さじ2~3

今回はアサヒビールさんからお話を頂きまして
スタイルフリーに合うがっつりレシピという事で
僕たちが今一番美味しいと思っている『極上のガーリックステーキライス』
を作ってみました。
生のニンニクだけじゃなく牛脂や鶏だしの旨味に焦がし醤油とバターのコクがプラスされて
お店にも負けない超やみつきなガーリックライスになってます。
お肉もスーパーで売られている一番安いお手頃なステーキ肉を使っているんですが
塩麹に漬ける事によって旨みを引き出し、まるで高級ステーキのような
柔らかいお肉になってる上に赤身が多いのでこれまたガーリックライスが進む進む♪
かなりがっつりとした男飯なんですが
そこにすっきりとしたスタイルフリーがめちゃくちゃ合いますよ♪
味はもちろんですが香りまで美味しい料理になっているので
是非、極上のガーリックステーキライス作ってみて下さい。
[Ingredients]
● Rice: 2 cups (please make sure it is cooked little hard)
● Plenty of green onions
● Beef steak meat of your choice: about 350g
[Seasoning] 2 tablespoons Shio-koj (salted rice malt), 1/2 tablespoon
garlic (can use a tube), 1 tablespoon sake
● Butter: 20g
● Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
● Chicken broth: 1/2 teaspoon
● Salt and pepper
● Black pepper
● Fresh garlic: 3 cloves
● Beef tallow (you can find it at the supermarket ♪)
● Oil: 2~3 tablespoons

with Style Free zero-carb beer, so we made what we think is the most
delicious "Premium Garlic Steak Rice."
It is not only made with fresh garlic, but also with beef fat and
chicken stock, with the added richness of burnt soy sauce and butter,
making it a super addictive garlic rice that rivals any restaurant.
The meat is made from the cheapest steak meat sold in supermarkets,
but by soaking it in salted koji, it brings out the flavor and makes
the meat as tender as a high quality steak.

Wanted to do a cover on this classic since a long while ago.
You can hear me imitating the sound of the accordion with the harmonica to add a little Parisian flavour. Even more impressive on the vocal Ashley was singing the tune in French accompanied by the other young talent Kurtis Li on the acoustic guitar.
With the video being shot in one of the most elegant recording studio in Hong Kong, the Avon recording studio, the Eiffel towers now seem to be only right across the street.
