。前作からの3日後、倒した筈のドン・モルグスティンが復活、マニアは寝ているマリアを置いて一人ドン・モルグスティンの待つ平成バビロンに向かう。

基本システムは前作を踏襲しつつ、ショット方向が1WAY、2WAY、8WAYから選択可、プローブの動きが3種類から選択可、特殊兵器の挙動が一部変更等の特徴がある。

前作でも見せた多重及びラスタスクロール演出は更に緻密化、幕間デモも完成度が飛躍的に向上、勿論お遊び要素も強化し、正にメガドライバーのバイブル的STGとなった。

BGMは菅野氏から変わり、同じくチーム百万石の玉山氏、濱田氏、鈴木さん、益子氏による共同作曲。
破天荒な中身と釣り合った、熱く激しい曲が多く、pcmドラムがそのテンポに華を添えている。
玉山氏は様々なゲームへのリスペクトを曲に織り込んで作曲したという。
