A hotel with an inviting botanical theme and spacious family rooms? We say "Yay"!

We were at the media preview of the newly rebranded Orchard Rendezvous Hotel, which was formerly known as Orchard Parade Hotel. Specially commissioned for the hotel, a first in Singapore by the Orchid Society of Southeast Asia, the Vanda Orchard Rendezvous is a two-tone, new hybrid strain of orchid which looks really pretty up close!

With 338 rooms which have been refurbished with new interiors, the hotel's design is inspired from its site's history as an old pepper plantation and we are so excited to see that 38 of the rooms are family-friendly rooms that come with bunk beds and kid-friendly amenities too! We even saw rubber duckies in the bathtub, how cute, right?

The exquisite leaf-shaped chandelier, the branch design of the hotel carpetting, the aromatic potpurri that perfumes the rooms and corridors, the garden-like seating area at the lobby which allows for an abundance of natural light, the botanical themed backdrops and wall decorations, and the gorgeous Vanda Orchard Rendezvous for viewing pleasure on Level 6 near the pool - all these and more help to make guests feel close to nature and look forward to taking a respite from the rigours of everyday life.

The kids were especially delighted with our DIY bookmarks and notebook covers which were made with real pressed flowers like the pretty Astrantia. The souvenir we took home with us was a very creative and unique Sprout Pencil, which is the world's first sustainable pencil and has a seed capsule instead of an eraser tip. All you have to do is plant it after you have finished using the pencil and watch it bloom in your garden! Pretty cool, right? Swipe left and check out our stories for more happenings too.

Fresh chilli pepper from our mini garden! Yup, the hubby is happy to pluck a few to spice up his meals while the kids and I are just happy to see this plant blossoming in our balcony.

Orchard Parade Hotel, which was first built on a pepper plantation in the 1960s, will be rebranded into Orchard Rendezvous Hotel tomorrow! With a commitment to providing guests with a Singapore-inspired hospitality experience, it is all about the love for culture, history and heritage for the new brand. The hubby did his internship in this hotel back when we were in NTU, erm over a decade ago, so we were pretty excited to hear about the news.

We also heard that these pepper plants will be incorporated into the refurbished interiors so we can't wait to see how it will be done up as well as find out how family-friendly the hotel will be. Till more updates!

榴莲甜品和laksa很好吃的酒店自助餐在Rendezvous Hotel，地址9 Bras Basah Rd, Singapore 189559，就在一楼的自助餐厅～

吃brunch的地方叫做The Populus, 地址是146 Neil Rd, Singapore 088875，挺适合和朋友几个一起去吃brunch聊天打发上午，味道都不错而且巨大一份，推荐炒鸡蛋可颂三明治，咖啡也很棒。价格不算低，大概人均S$40，不过性价比还是不错的~
