So so so happy to finally hear my Gameboy pocket squeak again! Spent 3 hours deep cleaning and repairing this beast. This fella suffered from melted LCD screen and heavy battery leakage and spillage. I had to cannibalize another LCD screen and motherboard from another worn out GB pocket. So many times I wanted to give up during this refurbishing project. Some of the battery corroded parts broke during cleaning and I had to remove a bulb and cut out several pieces of plastic to make the motherboard fit in. All those late night YouTube tutorials really never go to waste. So happy now! Feels like a part of my childhood has returned. I remembered I got this GB pocket from my mom circa 1997 at bedok's GameToyko. This Japan edition without the battery bulb is very rare now. LIMPEH first time do repair and electrical work and it's a big success! Ganphua happy now lorh!
