When US can produce great Bordeaux blend style wines, they can also produce great Bourgogne style wines. Attended the wine tasting of Rhys Vineyards and met with the ambassador Eric in trying 5 red and white wines from Rhys. Kevin Harvey, the owner of Rhys, is also the venture capitalist with projects like Uber, eBay & LinkedIn. Due to his love for Bourgogne wines, he spent a lot of time in doing research & find the suitable vineyards in California that has similar terroir & climate as Bourgogne in producing Chardonnay & Pinot Noir. Do they taste like Bourgogne wine? Yea, they do if you are doing blind tasting. I like Rhys Vineyards Horseshoe Vineyard 2013. It’s elegant & complex, with raspberries, licorice, sweet spices, mineral & a hint of leather. Cheers! 🎉🍷🥂
