I remember reading about the Dead Sea when I was a kid and told myself that one day, I would visit this place and be there to witness how ‘Dead’ it is.
If you’re wondering, the Dead Sea is called by this name because there are no marine organisms in it because of its excess salinity.
It’s large concentration of salt is about 10 times higher than in other oceans and any fish transported by the Jordan River immediately die as it flows into this saltwater lake.
Because of the high salt content of the water, people who bathe in the Dead Sea can actually float on the surface of the water!
I’m so glad that I get to experience this but not so much the part where @evelynmarietta almost drowned me in the salt lake! Oh my eyes, nose and throat! They burnt like hell 😅
That aside, it was truly an amazing experience to be floating in the sea without even trying! ☺️
