United Nations High Commission for Refugees has been working for 70 years protecting people forced to flee.
Unfortunately, most of the refugees in the modern world are from OIC countries.
The theme of philanthropy is rarely diacussed in Islamic societies. Ironically, we are VERY good to distribute charities to underserved and underprivilaged segments of the society. To distribute is the easiest thing to do. But we are VERY poor in raising the charity funds. The funds are declining while the recipients are increasing. We are equally bad in making our charity distribution impactful.
I will be speaking tomorrow on new maqasid al-Shariah of philanthropy and how the usage of fintech can help in both funds raising and making the distrubution impactful.
Let us join our hands together to ease the burdens of our fellow men accross the globe irrespective of their origin, colour, religion and geography.
Let us welcome this annual report to to reflect and to do more. We might not be able to stop humanity crises, but we can definitely ease some of the burdens and hardship. After all, we are all humans.
