I rarely feature rooms because it’s really hard to get the hotel owners to agree with it, specially when visitors started to arrive in Boracay. Safety comes first.
Blessed enough, WaterColors Beach Café Bar has a different story to tell. This will be my home for a while, and I am able to check and review all the rooms they have available in this beautiful hotel, I call home.
Let’s start with the Penthouse.
Why I love it?
1. I get the view of the church (which to me is a blessing), which is located at the main road. I have not heard a single noise from the street at all.
2. The interior. I was not sure about the cream, white, and orange combination, at first when I saw the photos online. But when I arrived at the place, it was an instant gratification. It was calming. Like you live in a spa. That includes the toilet’s design!
3. The rooftop bar access. No brainer! I have the access to rooftop bar, where during the day, I work, edit my videos and at night, I party with friends. I just needed to order from the restaurant below, and yes drinks are allowed for guests in the hotel. Ordering food and drinks are so easy and modern, which brings me to point #4.
4. They have an iPad for each room which allows you to check their menu, and use iMessage to chat with the frontdesk to request or order any time! So fetch! 😅 Here’s the view of the restaurant: https://fb.watch/77kOGz9GYB/
5. The bed. For someone who has a back problem, bed is very important to me. In Singapore for 10 years, I have had to supply myself an ergonomic mattress. I had to or I would not be able to sleep well which would affect my mood the entire day. For 3 months in Boracay, with all honesty, for 3 nights I have been here, I finally slept like baby. It’s so comfortable! Not so hard, and not so soft. It’s finally a blessing to me to be able to sleep well.
Soon, I will be reviewing the beachfront and deluxe rooms. But for now, please give them some love by visiting their Facebook Page, inquire about their rates and more.
I personally would like to thank Ethel, Ely and the staff for this opportunity. I know my words aren’t enough to show how much I appreciate you.
XoXo,

Edmund and Linh, a husband and wife team and owners of Hundred Acre Creamery, experimented with ice cream making during the circuit breaker period and it turned out to be more than mere interest. The cafe at Clementi had the essence of Hundred Acre Wood as seen in Winnie the Pooh and Linh’s illustration on the walls that added vibrancy to the place.
On their menu is a wide range of items that have both authentic Vietnam flavours and a fusion with local flavours. We ordered the Coco Pandan, that included coconut sorbet, coconut pandan waffle, peanut toppings and gula melaka sauce. They also specially imported butter avocados from Linh’s hometown, Da Lat, Vietnam for the ice cream making process.

For this episode, we headed back to Neo’s Kitchen to attempt a LEVEL 99 SPICY MALA WONTON CHALLENGE! EB Food is organising a timed wonton challenge with the launch of their new product, EB Shrimp Wonton with Mala Sauce. Eating the greatest number of EB wontons in 5 minutes will net you a cash prize of $2000, with further cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. Full details listed below:
The EB Shrimp Wonton with Mala Sauce came neatly packed in a pleasantly-enough designed box that really undersold the potency of the Mala sauce. They were simple to cook - boil the 12 wontons for 5 minutes, warm up the Mala sauce in hot water and mix them all together. The Mala sauce was a menacing shade of red glistening with Mala oil radiating that signature Mala aroma. The wontons themselves respectably plumped up considerably during cooking. Each had a whole shrimp in them. When mixed together, each wonton ended up adopting an even shade of red with small clumps of Mala sauce noticeable throughout.
I attempted this challenge with Mervin (there is a buddy requirement). From the number of wontons we prepared versus the number consumed, it was clear that we underestimated this challenge. We thought it would be a speed challenge, but it ended up being a spice challenge due to our low spice tolerance and the unexpected heat of the Mala sauce. Out of the 100+ wontons we cooked, we only ate 48 between us within the 5 minutes limit.
Note that our attempt does not count for the official challenge, so please do find a buddy (preferably someone who loves Mala) and win yourself $2000! The wontons are also Halal, so Muslim viewers can join as well!
Follow these easy steps to qualify for the challenge:
1. Like and follow @ebfood.sg on both their Facebook and Instagram accounts
2. Complete the T&C Google form before joining the challenge: https://forms.gle/phDZn6q3RZ77gaYS6
3. Film and upload your challenge video on both your Instagram accounts:
- Tag @ebfood.sg and your buddy's account
- Hashtag #EBFrozenFood #BeatMAloveforLA #malasg
- Indicate the total amount of Mala Wonton consumed
- Set both accounts public
4. Send the original video with 5 minutes duration to: marketing@ebfood.sg
*Your full video should include the process of pouring and mixing all the Mala sauce given in the packaging.*
Cash Prizes:
1st Prize: $2000
2nd Prize: $1000
3rd Prize: $500
Winners will be contacted by email on 23 June 2021.
Reminder: In order to qualify for the challenge, do read through all T&Cs and rules carefully from the Google form.

For this video, we decided to head down to Holey Moley to tackle their 1 METRE PIZZA SOLO! Holey Moley is bar attached to a mini golf course located at Clarke Quay where you can drink and play golf to your pleasure. We heard that they offer 1 metre long pizzas from Shi Rong (@snowclock), a previous guest, and decided to head down there to try it for ourselves. Apart from Zermatt, Mervin and Rachel (@boyeon_aa), also a previous guest, tag teamed a 1 metre pizza.
Each 1 metre pizza ($58) is comprised of 3 of their smaller pizzas, meaning you get to choose up to 3 different toppings. For my pizza, I chose Cheese and Thank You, The Beeferoni and Mutherclucker, which were basically a magherita, a pepperoni and a spicy chicken respectively. They are presented atop a long wooden board that has ruler-like markings to indicate the 1 metre length.
The pizza was not thick-crusted as I thought it would be, but thin and crispy. It had a balanced ratio of sauce to toppings to crust, with none of the components overwhelming the others. The Mutherclucker came the most loaded with toppings, while the Cheese and Thank You was the simplest. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the Cheese and Thank You the most, with it being straightforward enough for the quality of the ingredients used to shine through. For a challenge, it was also the lightest, although flavour fatigue kicked in quickly regardless.
I completed this 1 Metre Pizza Challenge in just under 23 minutes. Mervin and Rachel could not in 36 minutes. Holey Moley is a great place for you to head down with a group of friends to drink, play golf and devour pizzas measured by metre rulers. If you are feeling up to the challenge, you can attempt to do it solo, although it is no easy feat. They also offer a giant Gold Impossible Burger and have many alcoholic beverages stocked. Do visit Holey Moley for a genuinely enjoyable and multifaceted experience!
