[Apply experience] “Kỹ sư diệt gián” trúng tuyển đại học Mỹ
Lê Nhật Minh - cậu học sinh trường Ams từng đoạt giải Nhì toàn quốc trong cuộc thi Khoa học kỹ thuật quốc gia ViSEF 2018-2019 với dự án Bả diệt gián - vừa trúng tuyển vào Đại học Case Western Reserve (Top 40 National Universities). Minh là một trong những thí sinh nhận được thư mời nhập học ngay trong đợt ứng tuyển Early Decision tháng 11/2019 vừa qua.
Bên cạnh 2 bài thi chuẩn hóa SAT (1460) và TOEFL (99), Minh đã thể hiện với Hội đồng tuyển sinh em là học sinh có tố chất không chỉ thể hiện qua kết quả học tập mà còn qua các cuộc thi và hoạt động ngoại khóa.
Trong Hội thi Khoa học kỹ thuật quốc gia ViSEF 2018-2019, Minh đã cùng Huy Phúc, cậu bạn thân Chuyên Sinh trường THPT Amsterdam, đã cải tiến thành công Bả diệt gián Cobamid 7.5 RB với độ bền (lên tới 6 tháng) và chất hấp dẫn gián trong bả. Sản phẩm bả diệt gián của Minh và Phúc đã xuất sắc giành Giải Nhất thành phố Hà Nội và Giải Nhì toàn quốc trong cuộc thi. Cũng với thành tích này, cậu thường được bạn bè gọi vui là "kỹ sư diệt gián".
Là 1 trong 6 học sinh danh dự đại diện cho trường, Nhật Minh cùng các bạn tham dự Trại Hè Robot (STEP Technology Camp 2019) tại trường Đại học Quốc Gia Singapore (National University of Singapore). Minh cũng luôn có mặt trong các cuộc thi về khoa học kỹ thuật khác, tiêu biểu là cuộc thi Open Robohus 2018 do Khoa Sư phạm Kỹ thuật - trường Đại học Sư phạm tổ chức thi đấu giữa các trường THPT tại Hà Nội.
“Một khi em đã xác định được việc gì là quan trọng thì em sẽ dành toàn bộ tâm trí chuẩn bị cho việc đó. Vì em biết, sự chuẩn bị cho những việc quan trọng không bao giờ là đủ cả”, Nhật Minh nói về chìa khoá giúp em chinh phục được ngôi trường đại học mơ ước cũng như tâm thế của em để học tập, trải nghiệm ở vùng đất mới.

One of the best sites to visit when you're in Manila is Intramuros. This is a walled off fortified city built by the Spanish. It is home to the oldest buildings in the Philippines - including the oldest universities and churches. Today, it's primarily a tourist attraction for those who want to dive into a bit of history, and it's also a place where young people attend school or just hang out. A great way to see the entire area is by foot or hitch a ride with a pedicab rider, but make sure you set a price first before hopping on. After the tour was over, I ate a lovely lunch at some place I forgot the name to. Tried some adobo and some beef bone soup called bulalo, which was insanely delicious.
