REDUCE or REUSE
in Ultra Maokong and Formosa Trail we started used reusable 20L barrels, to minimize garbage (we did NOT use over 2000 PET bottles just in two relatively small events). Even it is more expensive and more complicated for logistic it worth of it use barrels. Hope it will inspired others, especially marathon on roads where is super easy distribute them.
Next step was NO CUPs or bowls in check points (in Formosa you could use stainless steels bowls). We will not usually provide disposable bowls and cutlery during the race and AFTER. Please bring you own bowl and spoon/chopsticks for food after race.
During 2019 events we will give you some reusable gifts and we hope you can use them in daily life as much as possible. Lets start with finisher gift for Run Through The Jungle - Beast Cutlery Set which we right now testing in daily life and develop habit to use them.
ps. if there were disposable or will be disposable bowls/chopstick it is only YOUR choice to use them or not
ps2. we did met problem to import Tailwind to Taiwan, seems citric acid is a wall for bulk orders. We already had another powder solution, but maybe not best like Tailwind. Coke and beers will still need accept from original bottles and cans (except where is really convenient use glass).

It breaks my heart to make a video like this, but pollution is a real problem and everyone should be educated to recycle, reuse, and ultimately refuse any single use materials (that includes common stuff like straws, disposable cups, plastic bottles, etc)
I visited this Indonesian UNESCO geopark back in July 2019.
Being in a UNESCO designated geopark, I didn't expect this amount of waste pollution. This was evident as the beach was polluted with fragmented styrofoams. The other areas of the geopark is also polluted with plastic wastes ranging from beverage bottle, plastic wrapper, tissue paper, cigarette box, among other stuff.
I published this video in hope to educate and raise awareness of a real, serious situation.
