Dr. WayneWang, Director General, Hsinchu Science Park Bureau, Addressed at "2020 Talk on Taiwan Career Higher Education for Indians" at National Tsing Hua University
竹科管理局王局長於10/26參加國立清華大學舉辦”2020 臺印文化及人才交流工作坊”並勉勵印度學子畢業後能到竹科尋找就業機會
To enhance understanding of Indian students or engineers regarding career market and future dreams to be realized at the Hsinchu Science Park, Dr. Wayne Wang, Director General, Hsinchu Science Park Bureau, accompanied by Mr. Scott Huang, addressed and gave a presentation at "2020 Talk on Taiwan Career Higher Education for Indians" at National Tsing Hua University in the evening on October 26, 2020. Local celebrities together with Presidents and representatives from NTHU, NCHU, Providence University, THU, Delta, ASUS, Foxconn, Gallant Precision Machining, etc. also presented at the talk.
As a global leading science park in IC foundry, Director General Wang appreciated the great chance given by National Tsing Hua University to attract talent from India via this talk. Indian engineers working at the Hsinchu Science Park so far are commonly recognized as humble and competent manpower in different sectors of careers at the Hsinchu Science Park. Indian engineers in IC design houses, software companies, and startup teams are with great reputation and job performance.
Director General Wang also mentioned the interaction between India companies as well as talent and the Hsinchu Science Park was frequent over the past decades. A number of science and technology cooperation programs and MOUs were carried out long time ago between both parties. A closer bilateral tie in term of science park cooperation started in 2018 when the Hsinchu Science Park works with a local company called CDC under the TECO Group to start a science park in Bangalore. Foreseeable prosperous development of high-tech industries for both parties is highly expected. He looks forward to a promising industry development in India in the future turning out to be a global new choice of world’s factory, especially after a number of global manufacturing giants moving their production sites to India. He is certain that more and more high-tech companies will go to India to expand their global business scope. Under this great chance, talent from India play an important role linking up the potential business and technology ties between India and Taiwan. He expects Indians engineers as well as students are acting like seeds for future economic prosperity and interaction between India and Taiwan keep going in diversified fields, reaching a WIN-WIN portfolio.

We don’t all have to be sustainability consultants in order to save the environment. You can keep doing what you’re good at - and apply your skills to environmental problems. That’s how Isabel stepped into circular design.
Isabel Aagaard is an entrepreneur and product designer. She founded LastObject two years ago in Copenhagen, Denmark, with a mission to eliminate single-use items by creating their reusable alternatives. Her very first product raised 1.2M USD on Kickstarter.
Today, Nature N8 chats with Isabel about how companies measure sustainability, her own successful business model, and toilet paper.

There’s a $35 million problem in the fight to reduce marine plastics. It’s called “The Ocean Cleanup.” You have seen the video clips: a young hero invents a solution to ocean plastic. But is it that simple?
Today, Nature N8 breaks down the high tech high-seas cleanup device. We also hear from Irene Hofmeijer, founder of a social enterprise in Peru that’s been cleaning up coastlines. They played a key role in banning single-use plastics nationally.
An extended interview with Irene Hofmeijer is available on our Patreon. Get the bonus episode on https://patreon.com/wastenotwhynot

How do you start a “green” company? How do you make it scale? How do you make sure it’s financially and environmentally sustainable? These are some of the questions we covered on WNWN’s first live show!
Held in Taipei on August 31st, we talked with Godfrey Ngai, CFO of Xing Mobility - an electric vehicle battery company going after two thirds of the worlds vehicles. Melody Hsu - co-founder of ViaSweat - an active-wear brand trying to use more sustainable textile made from recycled materials. And Hamoun Karami - founder of Lidbot, a startup that wants to transform the way we think about trash collection.
