雖然當學生的時候，統計沒有很靈光，不過每每看到公布一些數據，譬如平均薪資、年齡之類的，有時候會忍不住一股怨氣，常常覺得公開這些敘述性的數字、例如全部的平均薪資有什麼意義呢？超高收入的和領最低薪資的平均數，對一般人到底代表什麼？為什麼不能好好把薪水說清楚，什麼樣的年齡層、有怎樣的收入，什麼工作、收入如何，把薪資地圖畫清楚、別總是標起薪，讓看的人更清楚自己的收入水位不是很好嗎？當然這只是冰山一角，不過我離題了，總之我想說得是，數字大家都會算，重點是詮釋的人。
The way I see statistic today is that we overestimate description statistics, while we forget to look deeper into inferential statistics, for example, the average of income doesn't reflect how young people feel, on the country, the average income is so much higher that makes just-graduated student complain more, and see this society with more hatred. But inferential statistics might reduce the argument. So does the statistics in property market. Looking at quantity alone no longer help us understand the market trend.
