It’s my third time eating at City Hot Pot. Glad that they have just opened another outlet at Tanjong Pagar Center B1. It’s one of my comfort food especially during rainy days. 🌨
.
Set lunch starts at $21.99 and you’ll get a personal pot with a choice of one out of 15 soup bases, main course, vegetable platter, staple and sauce at the condiment bar. Having an individual pot is such a great idea, I can order soup to my liking. But of course you can always enjoy the meal with your family or colleagues too. 🍲
.
The Prawn Soup was by far the best among the soup bases I’ve tried before. The sweet savory broth was flavourful and would please seafood lover like me. Considering the top premium ingredients that they use, I think it’s quite value for money.🦐
.
This set lunch is available from Mon to Frifrom 11.30am-3pm. Do remember to visit them the next time you’re craving for some healthy comforting food!

Since couple dates are not possible for us for now, we didn't manage to catch a movie or go for a nice dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day. Also, gifts of love has never been my love language and if the hubby spends his hard earned money on flowers, chocolates or bears, I will tell him not to do it again and that I would rather have a handwritten card or for us to spend the money on more practical stuff (think milk and diapers).
So our Vday date was a very special one this year because at 1am during the weekend, we were out shopping for steamboat ingredients in Sheng Shiong with a sleeping baby snug on his chest. Yup. While filling up our trolley with meat, seafood, veggies and fruits, it dawned on me on why I chose to marry this guy.
His generosity (be it towards his friends or mine), his willingness to carry, bathe and change the baby (if the baby allows), his way of sacrificing (can you see the eye bags), his kind and big heart despite the stern and sometimes stoic exterior (his job needs him to be tough).
While he might often be sailing or working late, I hope we will always cherish the time we get to spend together, be it as a couple or as a family. And yesh, a date in the supermarket is totally an awesome idea. Happy Valentine's Day! #ahappymum #valentinesday #vday #onadate #loveyou

One of the favourite dishes during Chinese New Year is the get-together steamboat! It’s simple to prepare and great for bonding. It also has numerous meats and seafoods, vegetables, fishballs, etc. Sometimes, there are little bits and bobs of leftovers, which can be used to create a tasty new dish instead of being thrown away!
Seafood Noodles is a great idea to make good use of leftover steamboat ingredients. It’s super easy to whip up in a jiffy and absolutely delicious. You don't need to spend extra money to buy the ingredients. All you have to do is mince some garlic and shallots, slice some ginger and use whatever noodles you have at home! We used dried e-fu noodles as that was what we had in our kitchen!
Did you know that in 2015, Singapore generated 786 million kg of food waste? That’s two bowls of food waste generated per person, per day. Repurposing leftover ingredients into new dishes is a great way to reduce food wastage and save money. Why not start doing so during this festive season?
