Apple 2021 Q2
We ended the quarter with over $204 billion in cash plus marketable securities. We issued $14 billion of new term debt and retired $3.5 billion of term debt leaving us with total debt of almost $122 billion. As a result, net cash was $83 billion at the end of the quarter.
我把Q&A部分放到最前面,CEO與CFO的開場摘要則放到最後。
Q&A部分
Tim Cook 開場:
1. new March quarter records for both revenue and earnings, besting our year ago revenue performance by 54%.
2. iPhone, which grew 66% year- over-year driven by the strong popularity of the iPhone 12 family.
3. iPad grow very strong double digits to its highest March quarter revenue in nearly a decade.
4. In fact, the last three quarters for Mac have been its three best quarters ever
Wearables, Home and Accessories, which grew by 25% year-over-year.
5. Services. We achieved growth of 27% year-over-year and set new records for services in each of our geographic segments.
Over the next five years, we will invest $430 billion, creating 20,000 jobs in the process.
CFO Luca Maestri開場:
1. Our revenue reached a March quarter record of $89.6 billion, an increase of over $31 billion or 54% from a year ago.
2. Products revenue was a March quarter record of $72.7 billion, up 62% over a year ago.
3. Our services set an all-time record of $16.9 billion, growing 27% over a year ago. ( App Store, cloud services, music, video, advertising and payment services. Our new service offerings, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News Fitness+)
4. Company gross margin was 42.5%, up 270 basis points from last quarter driven by cost savings, a strong mix and favorable foreign exchange. Products gross margin was 36.1%, growing 100 basis points sequentially also thanks to cost savings and FX, partially offset by seasonal loss of leverage. Services gross margin was 70.1%, up 170 basis points sequentially and mainly due to a different mix. Net income of $23.6 billion, diluted earnings per share of $1.40 and operating cash flow of $24 billion were all March quarter records by a wide margin.
5. During the March quarter, we added more than 40 million paid subs sequentially, and we have now reached more than 660 million paid subscriptions across the services on our platform. This is up $145 million from just a year ago and twice the number of paid subscriptions we are only 2.5 years ago.
6. Apple Watch continues to extend its reach, with nearly 75% of the customers purchasing Apple Watch during the quarter being new to the product.
7. Mac. We set an all-time revenue record of $9.1 billion, up 70% over last year, and grew very strongly in each geographic segment with all-time revenue records in Europe and rest of Asia Pacific and March quarter records in the Americas, Greater China and Japan. This amazing performance was driven by the very enthusiastic customer response to our new Macs powered by the M1 chip.
8. iPad performance was also outstanding with revenue of $7.8 billion up 79%.
9. And UCHealth, a large health care provider in Colorado, was able to reduce per patient vaccination time from 3 minutes to only 30 seconds largely by moving from PC stations to iPhones
10. We ended the quarter with over $204 billion in cash plus marketable securities. We issued $14 billion of new term debt and retired $3.5 billion of term debt leaving us with total debt of almost $122 billion. As a result, net cash was $83 billion at the end of the quarter.
11. we were also able to return nearly $23 billion to shareholders during the March quarter. This included $3.4 billion in dividends and equivalents and $19 billion through open market repurchases of 147 million Apple shares.
12. This will cause a steeper sequential decline than usual. Second, we believe supply constraints will have a revenue impact of $3 billion to $4 billion in the June quarter.

If you ask what brand of Thai drink brand has?
M-150 Red Bull Carabao Brand
Singha Chang Alcoholic Beverage Brand
Vegetable fruit juice brand. Tipco Mali
Green tea brand Oishiichitan
I can see that most beverage brands have number one and number two.
But for the sweet water brand, we can only imagine one brand.
Brand boy wearing hat on glass bottle called Helse Blue Boy..
How Helce Blue Boys Founded
So how good is it selling now?
Investing man will tell you about it.

Helse Blue Boy was founded in the year. Prof. 2502 or 61 years ago
By the brothers and sisters of Por cuddle, Ank, the same place. Doing business. Cho shop sucks.
Those days, the sweet water business, no one cares.
The cuddle th brothers and sisters think that this is an opportunity.
They started thinking the sweeter recipe.
Under a brand called Helz Blue Boy
Helse Trading Company (Thailand) focus on business, sweet and sugar cubes.
The interesting thing is that Helz Blueboy is a nectar brand that reaches all groups of people.
There are not only customers but the average person.
But there are business customers.
Since the wheelchair water seller
To a large candy store restaurant
With pioneer, maintain quality with standards.
All of these make Helce Blueboy become one of the hit brands. It's been on the market for over half a century.
And even though Helce Blueboy has been around for a long time
Many people may think that business may be saturated.
Shouldn't have grown flirty
But what happened may not be like that
We come to see the results of Helse Trading Company (Thailand)
Year 2560 income 2,594 million baht. Profit 465 million baht.
Year 2561 income 2,889 million baht. Profit 749 million baht.
Year 2562 income 3,769 million baht. Profit 1,099 million baht.
21 % average growth income.
Profit grows on average 54 %
The important events that occurred in the past of the company are
- Price increases from being charged with tax increase.
- Expanding customer base to USA, Europe and Asia a few years ago.
However, companies can better control all parts of the company's expenses.
That's why the profits grow faster than the recent increase in revenue. Profit hits the billionaire level.
And how much profit is this level?
If we try to sample the profits of different types of water manufacturers listed on the Stock Exchange.
Osot Council 3,259 million Baht.
Carabao 2,506 million baht
Oishi 1,234 million baht
Helse Blue Boy 1,099 million Baht.
Ichitan group 407 million baht.
Tipco 208 million baht
Mali-210 million baht
From the example of the above companies, what is noteworthy is that many companies have other businesses.
For example, manufacturing restaurants including breaking line, new beverages for growth.
But Helse Blue Boy, even with champions products, only sweet water can produce good profit without losing to others.
What I think is if this company goes into the Stock Exchange and trades at the average P / E. Food beverage business group 19 times. With Helse Blue Boy's last year, this company will be worth more than 20,000 million Baht..
Even here, we can conclude..
Sometimes, focus on what we specialize in and produce products that meet customers.
Even we don't have many products, the products look simple.
But we can become a successful brand too.
While one corner, our world is talking about cuddle-centered discovery technology among businesses.
Many people need to adapt to new trends. Inventing new innovative products to seek growth. All this is to steal marketing shares from competitors.
But another angle, Helce Blueboy is beyond that.
Because for the past 61 years, what companies do has only maintained the standard of bottlenecks, logos, and flavors that
Which is not convincingly just this.
It's enough to make us realize the second-highest brand in the nectar business.
What's the name..

ok this may not quaaaalify as a vlog?? but there are bloopers at the end! i was so tired and spent 5-6h yesterday in the festival just watching films so here's a cover instead, we did this earlier this week and i haven't jammed in a million years but i love it. here are the people you see:

Norman (@manelorenmusic) on guitar
Xuan KaI (@axekay) on bass
Me on trying my best

making this happen: steph
showing up and learning this 30 minutes before: xuan
I mentioned in my coping with depression and anxiety video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzHDLnjEIgM) that I struggle with my mental health constantly and I hit a really rough patch these two weeks after feeling its onset the past few months. Making and rewatching that video was a good reminder to me on how I can be proactive in helping myself recover or even just function, at least. I think I'll talk about this in an upcoming video but this particular wave came really hard and I didn't know if I would be okay for a while. I don't think I'm 100% still, but maybe 70% and that's already so much better. One thing that always brings me out of it even for a while is being able to make and create and share things so that's why I'm jumping head first into vlogmas. I'm damn lucky to have such talented friends who want to do the same so the making of this cover was honestly great. The entire day was literally a shit storm (heavy rain and flash flooding in school!!!) but because of their company and the music, it made the day okay.
So I hope you enjoy it! Lmk in the comments if you have any requests for covers cos we'd love to make more!
SEE YOU TOMORROW!

7 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT JAPANESE CONDOMS コンドーム
Condom Day promotes condom usage and the practice of safesex.
In most countries, Condom Day is during Valentine's Day. In Japan, Condom Day is on May 6th. Many people take 'condom selfies' and post them on social media.
In this video, we cover 7 wacky things you may not know about Japanese condoms!
1. Weird Condoms
Here are some weird condoms from Japan:
- Kit Sack
- Koala's March
- Rilakkuma
- Pikachu
- Hello Kitty
- Street Fighter
- Super Big Boy
- Mega Big Boy
- Power Black
2. Condom Technology
Japan is at the forefront of condom technology. One way in which they are showing their condom dominance is by how thin they can make their condoms.
In America, the thinnest condoms are 0.06mm, but in Japan it's 0.038mm. Japan's Okamato company has frequently held the world record for condom thinness.
3. Condom Wars
China has been constantly knocking at Japan's door, challenging them for the world record in condom thinness.
China's Daming company actually suedOkamoto for their claim of having the world's thinnest condom when they felt they did.
4. Condom Ice Cream
You don't actually eat the condom here. It's basically ice cream in a condom, a neat way to eat ice cream on a hot summer's day.
In Japan it's called Tamago Aisu (Ice Cream Egg) or Oppai Aisu (Breast Ice Cream...not much better than 'condom ice cream').
We watch a bit of Sharla's ice cream condom video (Sharla in Japan / Sharmander):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2A002Em8Yw
5. Tortoise Shell & Animal Horn
This is what the Japanese used for condoms in the 15th century! Ouch for the animal horn...
Apparently, “tortoise shell and animal horn had the added advantage where the women could attach them to a stick and use them as d*ldos during their husband’s absence.”
6. Wacky Condom Commercials
Japan has wacky condom commercials...duh. Just an excuse for us to watch one of them!
Dinosaur Fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQ0px0v9SII
7. Condom Cookbook
A condom cookbook was released in Japan titled ‘Condom Meals I Want To Make For You’, with recipes such as 'Condom Push Sushi' and 'Condom Meat Stuffing'....
The condom is just used as a cooking device, not to be eaten.
There is also condom cookies and condom escargot...yum!

10 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE HIROSHIMA ATOMIC BOMBING (& NAGASAKI)
*CORRECTION: In the video, the location of Nagasaki is off. It should be more on the left side of Kyushu island.
1) Godzilla
Godzilla, the giant Japanese dinosaur-looking monster, a worldwide pop culture icon; who’s been in numerous movies.
Why am I mentioning this? Well, Godzilla owes its existence to the atomic bombs. In the aftermath, with the devastation still fresh in the Japanese consciousness, Godzilla was created as a metaphor for nuclear weapons and their destructive capabilities.
2) The Korean Casualties
An enormous number of Koreans also perished in the blast. In fact, around 25% of casualties were Koreans. Korea was under Japanese rule at the time so there were many drafted or conscripted Koreans in Hiroshima & Nagasaki. It’s unfortunate that the Korean victims of this tragedy have often been neglected
3) Close Call Kyoto
Today’s Kyoto landscape would have been greatly altered, and not for the better, if the Americans had gone about their original plan. The targets were in fact supposed to be Hiroshima & Kyoto. However, the US Secretary of War at the time, Henry L Stimson, insisted on sparing the city
4) The Pamphlet Warnings
Just prior to dropping the Atomic bombs, the US Airforce released pamphlets or leaflets from their planes warning Japanese citizens of the impending destruction. They were largely ineffective.
5) The Little Boy & The Fat Man
These were the American codenames of the two atomic bombs.
6) The American Casualties
12 American airmen were captured, then taken to the Chugoku Military Police Headquarters in Hiroshima, where the American weapon of mass destruction indiscriminately took them out.
7) Go
An important Go tournament was held in the suburbs of Hiroshima, about 5 km from ground zero; a pivotal match up was ongoing between champion Hashimoto and the challenger Iwamoto. When the atomic bomb went off, people were injured, buildings were damaged, and the game came to an immediate halt. Fortunately no one died as tournament officials had earlier moved the game away from the blast radius after coming across the American pamphlets.
The players took this opportunity to have a quick lunch break. Afterwards on the same day, they finished the game. White won.
8) Operation Meetinghouse
As devastating as the atomic bombs were, it didn’t even rank as the most destructive bombing event of WW2. That title goes to the deathly firebombing of Tokyo by the US Air Force, also known as Operation Meetinghouse. This was estimated to be the single most destructive bombing attack not just in Japan, but in history.
9) The Flame Of Peace
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park was built in dedication to the legacy of Hiroshima as the first city in the world to suffer a nuclear attack. In the park, sits The Flame of Peace which has burned continuously since 1964, and will remain lit until all nuclear weapons are removed from the world and the planet is free from nuclear threat.
10) The Improbable Survivor
Tsutomu Yamaguchi worked for the Mitsubishi company, and on August 6th, 1945, he was away from home on a business trip in Hiroshima.
He witnessed the Little Boy dropping from the sky and the explosion ruptured his eardrums, blinded him, and left him with serious burns. But he was alive.
The very next day, he dragged his body to a station, made his way out of Hiroshima and back to his hometown. At home, he finally received treatment for his wounds.
Two days later, despite being seriously injured and heavily bandaged, he informed Mitsubishi that he was back from his Hiroshima business trip and ready to report to work. So, he went to work, as if nothing major had happened.
Yamaguchi was lucky to have survived the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb. However, he was unlucky that he went back home..
..to Nagasaki..
