Throwback to our very first visit to jean may when we were staying at @upperhouse_hkg early August.
I had a full meal prior to my visit, so I only ordered a bunch of starters.
Little did I realise that the food and service at @jeanmayhk had such tantalising effect on my appetite.
I felt reallyy good eating these:
1. 𝗥𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗺𝘀 🤩
Scottish razor clams cooked quickly with white wine and sliced. finished with fish stock reduction and one of @tlo_chef's favourite flavours, persillade - parsley, roast garlic and confit shallot butter, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
2. 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁 🤤
Done classically with the reduction of madeira, port, brandy and shallots to enhance the flavour. Served with baguette croutons and red wine pickled cherries.
3. 𝗢𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀
Tasmanian oysters with horseradish creme fraiche, pickled cucumber and dill.
4. 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗼
Fresh sea bream slices, seasoned with maldon salt. The sauce vierge has tomato concasse, chopped shallots, parsley, dill and chives, infused olive oil, tomato consomme jelly (😍 details!) mixed herb oil and lemon zest.
5. Missing in the photos: Freshly baked 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 which @tlo_chef's Mom advised us to eat immediately 😋
It is also one of @tlo_chef's favourites things to eat at the end of the meal. Inspired by the great chef @FergusHenderson of @St.John.Restaurant London.

🙌🏼 Feel-good food with great execution. ❤ Cosy and warm-hearted vibes. 💯 Family & friendship with passion and professionalism.
These are the values that I see and feel at @jeanmayhk that made me want to book the entire restaurant during my first visit.
Take a quick look at the kitchen from the outside. It's brightly lit, very systematic, organised and clean. Even though it's small, it reminds me of some of the best restaurants around the world that I've visited.
Never underestimate these delicious, homey food at @jeanmayhk. This new neighbourhood restaurant has such great potential.

As our little island state turns 55 today, it's a great time to look back and see how far she has come and how much I have grown as a result of the journey.
Being born and bred in Singapore, I've never felt as appreciative of what I've learnt here, as much as I do today. Going to school and having to learn Mandarin was the bane of my existence. But today, I revel in the fact that I can order my dishes and point tourists in the right direction with my less-than-perfect Chinese, but the Chinese that I learnt in local school nonetheless.
I love how I've been able to build, and rebuild, my personal brand as and when I feel I need an "upgrade". Much like our little red dot - she, too, has had to learn along the way, about what works and what doesn't. And like Singapore, I let go of what no longer serves me and turn in the direction of where the sun shines bright.
My country is stunning, for the reasons below, and a million others I shall leave to another day -
* a burgeoning airport I want to get to early, just because there's so much to do and see (CAN'T WAIT TO TRAVEL AGAIN!)
* returning home, makes me beam with pride as I see her bustling port and know I've arrived
* her ever-evolving skyline sitting perfectly against the backdrop of history
* her food. her cleanliness. her tree-lined streets. her food. her history. her future.
Thank you, mum and dad, for meeting in Singapore. Falling in love. Having my siblings and I. And allowing me to flourish here. Thank you Singapore for allowing me to call you home.
And happy birthday Singapore!

Following old postcards of Macau, me and my friend explore the places that have changed the most over the last 100 years.
Macau was once a sleepy fishing village acting as a great port for trade into China. However over recent years it has seen drastic change becoming one of the richest places on the planet soon to take over Qatar in 2020 as the richest place in the world.
Macau has made it's money through gambling becoming a huge travel destination for Mainland Chinese to come on holiday or a day trip.
Bordering Zhuhai and neighbor to Hong Kong it is often overlooked and many people do not know the history of this amazing place.
Through these old postcard photos of Macau we hope to travel back in time and show you how much Macau, China has changed due to tourism and travel.
Exploring Macau through these postcards was a great travel adventure and really hope you enjoy this travel vlog in Macau.
We explored Fai Chi Kei, Green Island and Senado Square and it truly was a great adventure travel experience.
If you want to see another travel adventure in Macao please let me know and if you want more videos on the history of Macau.
Creating this adventure vlog in Macau was so much fun and I really hope you enjoyed.
Thank you for watching this adventure travel Macau vlog, I will see you in the next one!

My first time in Japan lasted only 5 hours, but it was enough to confirm what I'd always known - I love Japan! We stopped at the Okinawa port, where we disembarked from the Princess Cruise ship, got a shuttle to the train station, and headed straight to Shuri Castle, then over to International Street for dinner at Sam's. Photos as usual on my insta! Thanks again, Abigail for bringing me onboard!

I went on a 6 day 5 night cruise from Keelung, Taiwan to Okinawa, Japan with Princess Cruises, and it was magical! Even though Typhoon Maria stopped us from visiting our 2nd port (we had 3 sea days instead) - 10/10 would do this again! We saw nothing of the typhoon - blue skies only the entire trip. Photos as usual on my insta!
Thanks Abigail for bringing me onboard!
