其實，也從未想過會有這麼一天，當初得知消息的剎那頭腦一片空白，能親眼看著這三部電影一起在院線上映，似乎也足以在人生清單劃下一筆，謝謝 華納兄弟台灣粉絲俱樂部，謝謝 采昌國際多媒體，這裡成立的初衷，將現實種種不完美寄託於電影的起點，1995 年《愛在黎明破曉時》、2004 年《愛在日落巴黎時》與 2013 年《愛在午夜希臘時》的「愛在三部曲」，將在 12 月 4 日攜手重返大銀幕，屆時會有小小的活動舉辦，日後公佈時也歡迎大家參加。
我們因為遇見一個人，做出某些決定，彷彿主動開起一扇隱藏的門，像是眼前出現全新的視野，像是一腳踏入陌生的世界，整個人生開始走上未曾想過的道路，無論悲歡，無論好壞，然後你努力成長，時時調整腳步，主動賦予這些際遇更深一層的意義，成為我們著地的重量，與生命中難以切割的一大部分。曾為這觀賞過不下幾十遍的三部曲發過無數文章，追過無數外電，從依賴、寄託漸漸走出了自我受限的狹窄視野，濫觴來自導演人生的缺憾，這三段故事紀錄了一對情侶從年輕步入中年的過程，滄海桑田的不只是 Jesse 與 Celine，戲裡戲外的 Richard Linklater、Ethan Hawke、Julie Delpy 也同時慢慢變老，慢慢凋零。
因此，導演捕捉的，演員演繹的，觀眾投射的，是兩個人之間的連結隨年齡產生的變化，同時更是每個人處於不同階段，面對感情的心境轉折。
當年初相識時，車廂內一對旁若無人用德語彼此指責的夫妻，狹窄空間充斥高分貝爭吵音量，她一臉深受干擾的無奈神情，闔上書本、拿起包包便往後面移動，隨機選定一個空座位後繼續沉浸在書中世界，隔壁注視這一切的他也正巧捧著一本書消磨時光。彼時的維也納介於春夏交界之際，兩人你一言我一語，隔閡層層瓦解，那夜色彷彿流竄在異國街頭的一股暖流，拂過夕陽的光暈，晚霞的黯淡，摩天輪的嘆息，玫瑰花的鮮紅，河畔流浪詩人的微微一笑，緩緩流過心中後點滴滲出，偶爾幾秒倏忽即逝的剎那，水波之間盈滿點點星光，用不著被過去束縛，也無須為未來擔憂，那是最值得追求的瞬息，他們創造了真實與奇幻交會的光芒，也遇見了兩個靈魂碰撞時的無悔駐足。
而有些事物都是失去了才開始意識到曾經擁有，不禁思考起張愛玲所言，年輕人的三年五年就可以是一生一世，原因在於我們大多耗盡三十歲以後的人生不停緬懷眼睜睜從指縫間流逝的事物，好比真愛，好比勇氣，好比理想，一去不復返。噓寒問暖填補彼此缺席的空白時日，這些浪擲的光陰一氣呵成，細看有婚姻，有孩子，想來漫長卻不浪漫，看似過得去卻一事無成，笨拙遮掩內心巨大的哀愁，排斥憐憫，害怕同情，無法坦然面對近乎失敗的人生，無法承認誰也無法成為當初想像中的自己，無法怪罪一場偶然的際遇與錯過從此身陷另一種版本的麻木軀殼。

從人與人之間的無限可能，過渡到人與人之間的應有模樣，接著迎接人與人之間的真實景況，最終章的午夜成為分數較低的一部，卻是一段感情走到後來多數人不願面對的必然陰影。經歷無數擦身、重逢後，證明了即使對對方的一切瞭若指掌，包括髮際如何分線、明天會穿什麼襯衫、在某個特定狀況下說什麼故事等等，他們依然難逃從心靈相契的靈魂伴侶走到話不投機半句多的老夫老妻，以為無法相伴走到活在午夜之前的理想狀態。然而伊森霍克曾表示，大家總認為爭執、口角產生，等同宣告著不好的發展，偏偏負面情緒才是真實的，如果他回顧自己的人生，會發現那些至痛至深的經驗才能真正帶領自己成長，在第三部曲將感情劃下完整的圓後，他對這對銀幕情侶抱有更高的期待，至少 Jesse 和 Celine 不是活在謊言、假象之中，被彼此緊緊綁住，有怨懟卻也有包容，有不滿卻也有無悔，這是一段困難的感情，無庸置疑，但同時，我們也看見了很深的愛情。
