My God is So Big and Mighty
“At the end of twelve months he was walking in the royal palace of Babylon. The king spoke and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty? While the word was in the king’s mouth, a voice came from the sky, saying, “O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you. You shall be driven from men; and your dwelling shall be with the animals of the field. You shall be made to eat grass as oxen. Seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will.” This was fulfilled the same hour on Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven from men, and ate grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky, until his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.” (Daniel 4:29-33 WEB)
It is extremely sobering to think that this God that has a personal relationship with every believer, “rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will.”
God deals with major things like the rise and fall of kingdoms. He speaks to kings and yet He is also taking care of our lives, making sure that we have whatever we need.
““Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will, but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:29-31 WEB)
Not even a cheap sparrow falls to the ground without Abba God noticing. He even knows the exact number of hairs on your head.
The one who sets up kings in the world also takes care of the birds, the flowers, the bees, and me. Wow! God’s power is so vast and His love for His creation is so deep and personal. The one who rules Heaven and earth is a good God.
“Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing. Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its animals sufficient for a burnt offering. All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity. To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?” (Isaiah 40:15-18 WEB)
Abba God must be huge because in comparison to Him, the nations put together are just like a drop of water in a bucket.
Have you held a water droplet before and pondered how tiny it is?
It is amazing that someone so big and mighty is so gentle. He lifts up the microscopic-sized islands without destroying them.
If the nations together are like a speck of dust, imagine handling one island—it must be like the size of the smallest microorganism.
To a God like that, whatever you offer Him is intrinsically worthless. It is too tiny and useless to Him, but He does not despise what you give to Him sincerely.
“Yahweh appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day. He lifted up his eyes and looked, and saw that three men stood opposite him. When he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself to the earth, and said, “My lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, please don’t go away from your servant. Now let a little water be fetched, wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. I will get a morsel of bread so you can refresh your heart. After that you may go your way, now that you have come to your servant.” They said, “Very well, do as you have said.”” (Genesis 18:1-5 WEB)
When God took the form of a man and appeared to Abraham, Abraham was pleasantly surprised. He offered bread with water and the Lord accepted the humble offerings.
This huge, powerful God who promotes kings and sets up kingdoms, will not despise your heartfelt worship and acts of faith. Whatever you give to Him, He loves it even though they are intrinsically useless to Him.
Whatever challenge you may be facing now is insignificantly tiny as compared to your God. Have faith—you are much more value than many sparrows!
If you encounter days whereby the enemy’s attacks seem so huge and insurmountable, getting a right perspective from God’s word can change that. In “Messiah’s Miracles: The Power of Having Faith in Jesus Christ”, you will see God’s power and His heart of love, grace, and mercy towards you. Breakthroughs and miracles will happen when you have faith: https://bit.ly/messiahs-miracles

Our next nature walk brought us to Hampstead Wetlands Park, woohoo!
Despite the hot weather, it was nice to take a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk and nature trail as we admired the flora and fauna. We saw turtles, ducks, spiders, dragonflies, snails, birds, ants and more.
It took us less than 40min to complete the trail as the park is not huge at just over three hectares. The highlight of the day was discovering a spot where there were plenty of saga seeds to pick as this is something that the kids have always enjoyed. Yup, I guess our collection of 相思豆 is gonna get bigger and bigger.
We also stopped by the the aeroplane themed playground at the Oval, which is in Seletar Aerospace Park, and the kids had a good time on the saucer swing and spiral slide.
Just before we left, we played a game of human 飞行棋 (Aeroplane Chess) although it was scorching hot in the early afternoon by then. My phone had run out of battery at that point but perhaps it was also a good reminder for me to put away the device once in a while so that I can truly be present and enjoy the most of the moment with my little ones.
Have a happy week ahead, people! ❤

.
.
Call me King of staling
This was an event on 7 March but it’s not posted until April lol
.
The name of this event is “One tree, One mountain”
It should be more or less about something starting from a single tree towards flowers all over the mountain?
I’m thrilled to be able to experience this for where in this city can I get the chance to plant a tree except the potted plants I keep?
I also got some insight to the key steps of planting a tree.
.
Dig deep enough at the right location (it’s much harder than it sounds as the ground is very solid and full or rocks)
Plant the sapling and cover it with soil (it has to be kept relatively low so that it can be moisturised by the rain
Stabilise the sapling with three bamboo sticks (secure them in the soil by knocking them into the ground with rocks or other tools, and then tie them with ropes)
Give your parting gift (the source of life - water) at its root
.
I admire the organiser @wind0411 for his ideals, execution and charisma while I was just hoping to hang out with my friends, gain some experience and take some photos
I couldn’t help but think about what good is it to simply plant a few trees?
For the mountains? For the climate? For the eco system?
How many more have to be planted to be relevant?
.
The story of a boy and starfish enlightened me.
Saving all the starfishes on the beach is impossible but every starfish represents a hope of life longing for the healing ocean
.
“Little tree 1” “little tree 2” and the other six may not need the bamboo sticks anymore when they are fully grown and their root fully crawl into the ground
They may enjoy the sky and the breeze;
Shelter the students and kids playing underneath them from the sun;
Watch the bees and butterflies dance at nearby flower fields;
Be the base for the birds resting and singing on their branches
These may be the real meaning for this sweaty event I guess?

Check out the differences of Orchard Road in Singapore during COVID19 Phase 1 and Phase 2.
Music by David Meraki: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI-ShiSbaApBfnKdgVaSWsQ
Fun Facts:
Orchard Road is a famous street in South East Asia, and increasingly across the world. Adorned with stores, malls, eateries and sites, the 2.2km strip is a paradise delight for shoppers and tourists alike. But there are a few things about Orchard Road that are little known, and adding these to your bank of knowledge could quite impress whoever you choose to stroll down the famed boulevard with. It’s not all about shopping and consumerism, there’s a lot more to this historic street in the Lion City.
1. If you perchance to stroll down Orchard Road between around 6:30 to 8:30pm, you may notice that the human species is somewhat outnumbered by another; hundreds and hundreds of birds flock to the famed shopping street in the evening, The Birds
If you perchance to stroll down Orchard Road between around 6:30 to 8:30pm, you may notice that the human species is somewhat outnumbered by another; hundreds and hundreds of birds flock to the famed shopping street in the evening, and their singing of sunset songs can actually become quite a racket. But why are there so many birds? Singapore is actually located right on course of the East Asian-Australasian Flyway – the migrating path of thousands of birds, and the island is an essential stop for the birds to refuel – and what a place to do it! Munching on leftover food, and singing from the many treetops that line the streets are four different species of birds; the Asian Glossy Starling, the Javan Myna, the house crow, and the rock pigeon.
But their presence comes with an unsightly catch – the poop. Executive Director of the Orchard Road Business Association, Steven Goh, is expending much effort and a lot of resources to keep the boulevard clean. For example, up to 3’000 litres of water every night is used to pressure clean the street and rid it of bird poop.
1. What’s in a Name?
The name Orchard Road actually originates from where you might think – it was once lined with orchards! Early in the 19th century it was home to Pepper and Gambier plantations, which years later gave way to Nutmeg and Fruit Orchards.
It’s rumored that a “Mr. Orchard” used to own some of the land at the corner of present-day Scotts Road and Orchard Road, and as lovely as that might be, there doesn’t seem to be much evidence to support it.
1. What Once Was…
As well as fruitful orchards (that sadly diminished mostly due to disease), Orchard Road was also once the location of three cemeteries; a Chinese cemetery, a Sumatran cemetery, and later on, a Jewish Cemetery.
By the 1860’s there were many private houses on Orchard Road, and in the early 1890’s, King Chulalongkorn, King of Siam, acquired “Hurricane House”. Later two pieces of property were added on, and it is now the site of the Royal Thai Embassy, at 370 Orchard Road.
The early 20th Century saw Orchard Road as home to a number of different things including fresh produce markets, car parks, the Orchard Road Railway and the Glutton’s market – where locals would wait for the clock to hit 5pm before setting up a number of stalls selling local cuisines and goodies.
And then in 1958 the Orchard Road that we know now began, with the opening of CK Tang’s Department store – the first and longest-running of its kind on the strip.
1. A Secret Street
Just a hop behind the glamourous Orchard Road, is another awe-inspiring street, but not for any of the same reasons.
Emerald Hill is a little street of terraced houses that feels as though it’s been frozen in time – a stunning display of Chinese Baroque architecture, this little street definitely deserves a little of your time away from Orchard Road.
What was once a nutmeg plantation (which sadly failed due to disease) has since become the home of many-a-wealthy Singaporean, and has even been the mystical setting for many short stories written by pioneer of Singaporean Literature Goh Sin Tub.
