The organiser of Hong Kong’s annual Tiananmen Massacre vigil has refused to comply with a national security police request to hand over information, and has said that the force has no legal basis to make such requests.

A principal in Kowloon, Hong Kong went on leave starting from Tuesday over an alleged "inability" to carry out his work, according to a school notice released after he held prayers as per normal to mark the June 4, 1989, Tiananmen Square massacre.
