Today’s inspiration!
Following his first trip to Tiger Muay Thai back in 2010, Stu Jotham suffered a terrible motorbike accident which nearly resulted in his leg being amputated. Pioneering surgery saved his leg, but he was told his life would never be the same again. In the years since he has had 7 operations on his leg as doctors worked to make it as stable as possible. Stu has struggled with his weight in recent years, but now that he is finally able to train again he came back here at Tiger Muay Thai to start off his transformation back to fitness. Stu is loving working boxing with Kru Max, and is determined to take the new mindset he’s developed here back home with him.

“I am learning very quickly that I need to be kind to myself to make any real progress, I need to be kind to my body and what I’m eating and thinking. They both work hand in hand and that’s been my battle. The battles within all of us are invisible to others, never judge, be kind and don’t be afraid to ask for help”

Dricus Du Plessis(4-1)is a South African MMA fighter who recently came to Tiger Muay Thai in preparation for his upcoming fight at EFC Africa -Extreme Fighting Championship Africa 37 against Darren Daniel. Headlining that card is Leon Mynhardt and Don Madge who are both Tiger Muay Thai alumni.

Current EFC Lightweight Champion Leon Mynhardt who is also a multiple time guest at TMT told him about Tiger Muay Thai.

" Leon is my training partner and is also a good friend of mine and he told me all about it. I came and loved it."

Dricus started at a young age of 5 training Judo and then took up wrestling when he was 11. He had his first K-1 fight at 15 and became a professional fighter by 19.

He is also a 3rd year Student in Agriculture Economics at the University of Pretoria.

" I spend a lot of time on the farm when I am not training and I also enjoy Watersports, Rugby, Hunting and Motorbike Riding."

Dricus's home camp is Team CIT MMA in Pretoria South Africa.

" There are a lot of similarities in my gym and TMT but also a lot of differences mostly having 20+ training partners to train with and also getting trained by so many top coaches and learning all their different ways of thinking and approach. It is also awesome to be here sharing my passion with a lot of people!"

Dricus is a young fighter and only after 3 impressive wins in the EFC, he was given the title shot for the EFC Worldwide Middleweight Title against now UFC Fighter Gareth Mclellan.

" I lost in the 3rd round via choke. I am looking forward to my next fight against another tough guy and a former Welterweight Champ Dino Bagatin."

He is definitely a fighter to watch!
