Can we lose more weight when we sweat profusely?
“I heard certain sports can help us sweat more profusely in a short time, so we can lose weight more efficiently. Does excessive sweating help with weight loss?”
CheckCheckCin: Time is precious for Hong Kong people, and we tend to find alternative ways to achieve greater results in just a short time. The same logic applies to our workout sessions, as we want to sweat as much as possible within a short period.
Sweating is a way for our body to dissipate heat, and the amount of sweat we produce depends on the body constitution. Individuals with asthenic qi and yin tend to sweat more easily, and they might be drenched in sweat after exercising for just 5 minutes. Hence, we should not obsess over the amount of sweat we produce.
According to the Chinese Medicine theories, ‘sweat is the fluid of the heart’. Excessive sweating can exhaust the yin of the blood in the heart, so it is not necessarily good for the body. If we wish to lose weight, we should pay attention to our heart rate and duration of exercise.
Generally, an effective exercise should last at least 30 minutes, and individuals should exercise 3-4 times a week. We have to monitor our diets and eat healthily. If need be, consult registered and licensed Chinese physicians to improve the body constitution, as this will be of tremendous help to your weight-loss journey.

The Kichwa people’s lawsuit over Ecuador’s biggest oil spill in a decade is headed to the country’s highest court!
Indigenous communities’ tireless fight for #JusticeForTheAmazon now hits the steps of Ecuador’s Constitutional (Supreme) Court with an opportunity to set a national precedent and reverse the lower courts’ ruling that reinforced a decades-long legacy of impunity for Ecuador’s oil industry to pollute the Amazon without consequence, and more importantly without remediating the region’s fragile ecosystems or repairing the damage done to Indigenous communities.
In a time of climate crisis, accelerating biodiversity and species loss, and growing unrest due to environmental racism and systemic discrimination against Indigenous people and People of Color, Corte Constitucional del Ecuador has a tremendous opportunity to set an example in Ecuador and worldwide. What happens in the Amazon matters everywhere, and the world will be watching for the outcome of this case.
They need your help. Sign this letter to the Court to ensure the judges hear our global call for justice and the #RightsofNature:

The Cavaliers finally located their missing 7-foot-3 center.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas, mostly forgotten in Cleveland's offense, scored a season-high 18 points with 15 rebounds, and LeBron James had 25 points and 11 assists in a 108-95 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.
Ilgauskas came in averaging nine points per game -- six below his career average -- and the center hasn't been as involved in Cleveland's new offensive schemes as much as he or Cavs coach Mike Brown would like.
"My fault," Brown said before the game.
Ilgauskas scored just two points and took only two shots in Friday night's loss at Indiana. He and Brown met in the coach's office about 90 minutes before tipoff with the Sixers, and whatever they discussed became Cleveland's gameplan.
The Cavaliers did more to get Ilgauskas the ball in good scoring spots and he responded by scoring 12 points in the first half. He had his 18 by the end of the third quarter, when Cleveland opened an 82-70 lead.
"It got to the point where we said, 'Screw the offense," James said. "There were some (play) calls we made that had nothing to do with our offense. We've got to find a way to get 'Z' in a comfort zone."
Ilgauskas tied a team record with 12 offensive rebounds and had five blocks. Cleveland's big man also dived to the floor several times for loose balls. The Cavaliers, playing their fourth game in five nights, have won six straight at home.
"'Z' did a tremendous job," Brown said. "He got on the ground three or four times going after loose balls, that's a heck of an effort for a guy that's 7-foot-3. His points and rebounds were tremendous, but his five blocks is what I like to see."
Allen Iverson scored 31 points on just 10-of-28 shooting to lead Philadelphia. Andre Iguodala added 17 and Willie Green 13 for the Sixers, who played their fifth straight game without Chris Webber.
Coming off a 123-108 win over Chicago, the Sixers started fast and built a 13-point lead in the first quarter but couldn't sustain it.
"We gave the game away," Iverson said. "We just stopped playing. There ain't a whole bunch to say. We jumped right on them. I know games have two halves. But we had that game. No way are we supposed to give that up.
"Honestly, I feel like this is the worst loss that we've had this year. It's just a complete breakdown."
Trailing by 13 early in the fourth, Philadelphia pulled within 94-86 on two free throws by Samuel Dalembert with 5:24 left. But Ilgauskas came back in off the bench, and although he didn't score, his return sparked the Cavs.
Eric Snow hit a jump shot, Drew Gooden scored in the lane and James completed a three-point play to put the Cavaliers, wearing orange throwback uniforms from the 1980s, up 101-86 with 3:04 remaining.
With Ilgauskas leading the charge, the Cavaliers outrebounded Philadelphia 49-36.
During one sequence, Ilgauskas played a solo game of volleyball around the rim, outreaching Sixers defenders to keep the ball alive.
"I got off to a little bit of a slow start, but they kept calling plays for me," said Ilgauskas, who played a season-high 36 minutes. "It was nice to get back into the offense."
Cleveland trailed by nine points after one, and the Cavaliers began the second quarter with a lineup featuring Ilgauskas and Anderson Varejao but not James. Without their superstar, the Cavs rallied and opened the period with a 13-2 run, taking their first lead on Sasha Pavlovic's three-point play.
Later, Ilgauskas scored six points and Damon Jones drained a 3-pointer during a 10-0 burst that put Cleveland up 46-36.
In the final minute of the half, James gave the sellout crowd what they came to see when he grabbed an alley-oop pass from Jones, and rising to almost eye level with the rim, rifled his dunk through.

The Philadelphia 76ers are tired after playing six games in eight days. Thanks to Allen Iverson, they had more than enough energy to beat the Memphis Grizzlies.
Iverson scored 33 points as Philadelphia beat Memphis 95-88 Wednesday night, keeping the Grizzlies the NBA's only winless team with their 12th straight loss.
Philadelphia coach Larry Brown wasn't worried about becoming the
first team to lose to the Grizzlies this season.
"I was really impressed with them. I knew it would be a hard game,'' he said. "I just wanted to figure out a way we could hang on. We had some tired guys out there. Allen stepped up, and we had some tremendous defensive stops, and we got a win.''
The 76ers won for only the second time in six road games this
season and got a measure of revenge against Memphis, which swept
last season's two-game series. They lead the all-time series 11-3.
Todd MacCulloch had 15 points and 13 rebounds for Philadelphia.
Eric Snow added 14 points, Aaron McKie 12 and Keith Van Horn 10.
Stromile Swift set a Memphis record by blocking eight shots, and he also had 12 points and 16 rebounds. Rookie Drew Gooden led the Grizzlies with 21 points, Pau Gasol had 14 and Wesley Person added 12 off the bench.
Van Horn called it an ugly game but said the 76ers felt
fortunate to pull out a victory against a team desperate to win. He
said they didn't want to be the first club to lose to Memphis.
"It's definitely on your mind. It's almost like a fear not to be the first to lose,'' he said.
Philadelphia trailed only once, 24-22 in the first quarter, before Brian Skinner hit a pair of free throws and a layup for the lead. The 76ers led by as much as 13 twice, the last time at 54-41 on MacCulloch's layup off an assist by Iverson just before halftime.
The Grizzlies, playing their fourth game in six days and hoping
to give new coach Hubie Brown a victory, pulled to 67-63 when Earl
Watson capped an 8-0 run with a jumper with 1:54 left in the third.
But Iverson, scoreless in the quarter until then, answered with
a pair of 3-pointers. McKie added a jumper for a 75-63 lead after
three.
Gooden scored with 43.4 seconds left to pull the Grizzlies to
92-86, but that was as close as they would get.
Hubie Brown pointed out that he and his assistant coaches have been with the Grizzlies only eight days, playing three of four games against teams that went to the playoffs last season. He is using these games to evaluate his players.
"Are we happy tonight? Absolutely not. We're not happy at all,'' Hubie Brown said. "Give Iverson his due. He made two spectacular shots. I thought he had a rifle instead of his hand. It was just great, great pressure shots.''
Iverson started slowly after scoring a season-high 38 points Tuesday night in a loss to New Orleans. He missed five of his first six shots, turned the ball over three times and had just three points in the first quarter.
The 76ers opened the game with a 9-2 run, but Gooden scored six
points to help the Grizzlies rally. Mike Batiste's layup gave them
a two-point lead late in the first.
Then Iverson warmed up, scoring 13 in the second quarter as he
went 7-of-8 at the free-throw line.
Memphis seemed sluggish after losing 110-106 in overtime at Minnesota on Tuesday night. The Grizzlies shot just 6-of-24 from the floor in the second quarter and finished shooting 39 percent (33-of-84).
Game notes
Swift had seven blocks in the first half. The team record for blocks had been shared by Gasol, who had seven twice last season as a rookie, and Bryant Reeves. ... Derrick Coleman, in just his second game this season, had just one point in 14 minutes for Philadelphia. ... Memphis guard Jason Williams sprained his left foot with 4 minutes left as he landed on Eric Snow's foot after tossing up a 3-point attempt. Williams walked off the court on his
own, but had to be helped to the locker room. X-rays were planned for Thursday.
