The shophouse cluster at Shanghai Street comprises 10 no. of veranda type pre-war buildings, typical of streetscapes in old Hong Kong streetscape.
The project is for the mural showing the history and the daily life of the people in the past. What details and stories on the mural do you find?
上海街項目範圍內的10幢戰前「騎樓」式建築，是典型上居下舖的「唐樓」，此壁畫是反映當時香港街道風貌和百姓的生活日常。
暖和的夕陽下有街坊在歸家路上學杯涼茶，清清熱氣；有人走到天台「呼吸」一下，減減壓力；孩子想在街上多逛一會，但快要回家吃飯了；有個女孩在想：「鞋子近來有點窄，看來又要穿姐姐的舊鞋子了⋯⋯」，又想「不知道爸爸的單車修理好了沒有？要不要去問老闆一下？」
此作品看似是一個場景，但內裏有千百個故事，你看到的又是怎樣的呢？
畫中的店舖和招牌是來自不同年代的，由50至60年代照顧街坊生活日常的店舖如順行單車行，到2009年收購前專營裝修物品如多麗牆紙，因此在現實從未出現過的畫面上，我選擇用黃昏的色調去營造奇幻的氣氛。
