I used to work in Tai Po for 2.5 years, and I always went to "Veggie Smart" for lunch every day (now they relocated to San Po Kong). I have been looking forward to having a hipster coffee shop in the vegan desert of Tai Po. My wish finally came true. Arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon that day, we have to wait in line? ! Look at the meat shop next to it, there is no one! We felt super happy to line up 😆💚
"Baked Turmeric Rice with Tomato Sauce &Impossible Burger" and "Lemon Basil Penne" are pretty nice. I prefer baked turmeric rice😁 What I like most is the New York cheesecake 🍰I had the full lunch set including main and drinks, then plus desserts, I finally feel full 😋 Sorry that I can eat a lot 🤪

COOKING IN THE AGE OF CORONA
With all of us spending much more time at home these days, simple and healthy recipes are imperative. Here’s a solid option to work into your rotation.

Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients: rice, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, vegan mince, frozen corn, sriracha, soy sauce, nutritional yeast, lemon
.
1) Thinly slice Brussels sprouts and mushrooms.
2) Heat large pan with vegetable oil to medium high heat.
3) Pan fry vegan mince (@beyondmeat, @gardein or @omnipork) for a four minutes before adding Brussels sprouts, corn, mushrooms and a bit of water. Simmer for five minutes.
4) Add rice and mix in thoroughly. Add Bragg liquid aminos or preferred soy sauce and some Sriracha sauce for some extra kick.
5) Plate and sprinkle nutritional yeast and squeeze lemon and serve. Enjoy!

Karaage (also called Tatsutaage) is Japanese fried chicken. It is usually cooked for lunch, dinner, or bento. Also, it is the best party recipe favored by most people!

Vegan Karaage (Soy Meat Fried Chicken) Recipe
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 40min (incl. marinating time)
Number of servings: 4
Ingredients:
100g (3.5oz.) dried soy meat blocks https://amzn.to/3zBFQ4m
* 2 tbsp. soy sauce
* 2 tbsp. sake
* 1 tbsp. grated ginger
* 1 clove grated garlic
* 1 tsp. sesame oil
2 tbsp. Katakuriko (potato starch)
deep frying oil
lemon wedges if preferred
Directions:
1. In a boiling water, cook dried soy meat blocks for 4 minutes. Or as directed on its package. Wash well (change water for a few times) to remove the bad smell, then drain well.
2. Mix the seasonings in a bowl and marinate the soy meat for about 30 minutes. Overnight is okay, longer makes them tasty.
3. Drain lightly (do not squeeze out the marinade liquid), coat with Katakuriko in a plastic bag.
4. Deep fry in oil at 180C (350F) until crisp golden brown.
5. Serve with lemon wedges if you like.

We miss Penang food. So today we will bring you to Pulau Penang. But because Max doesn't eat fish and Dirk is on a vegan diet, so vegetarian then!
You will need to prepare mushroom broth as the base. I didnt have mushrooms, so I did not show u in the video. You can grind the mushroom to add thickness to the soup! Also I had too little chili in the soup. Be Brave, add more!
Ingredients for 4 to 5 servings :
For the actual Laksa paste -
. 5 fresh chillies if u like it spicy
. 12 shallots
. 2 stalks lemongrass
. 4 cloves garlic
. 1 small piece turmeric around 3cm size
. 1 small piece of fresh peeled galangal (or ginger) 4 to 5cm size
. 1 tablespoon vegan shrimp paste (or miso)
- Blend all that into a paste, then saute in hot oil for 8 to 10mins -
For The BROTH :
. 6 to 7 cups of water or Mushroom broth
. around 6 pieces of Asam Keping or tamarind paste 3 tbsp. brown sugar
. salt for tasting
. 1 tbsp soy sauce
. one or more rolls of cut vegetarian fish
- Boil all together with the sauteed paste -
For Garnishing:
. Daun kesum leaves/ asam leaves
. Fresh mint. thin sliced ginger flower and lemon grass
. Chopped or sliced pineapple
. Finely sliced red onions
. Vegetarian shrimp paste for tasting
. some cut lime . you can also add thin slices of lettuce
Last but not least, the Laksa noodles or thick vermicelli/Bihun noodles.
