1) Nerve-wracking(とても緊張感がある)
=================================
nerve は「緊張」、wrack は「苦しめる」を意味することから、nerve-wrackingは人をひどく緊張させたり、心配させることを意味します。極度の不安や心配が原因でイライラしたり、ストレスを感じたりするニュアンスがあり、「神経が疲れる」と訳すこともできます。この表現は、____ is nerve-wracking.(〜はすごく緊張する)のように空欄に緊張する対象が入ります。
✔ちなみにNerve-rackingとスペルすることもありますが、どちらを使ってもOKです。
<例文>
Doing a speech in English in front of many people is nerve-wracking.
(大勢の前で英語でスピーチをするのはすごく緊張します。)
Waiting for the test results to come back can be really nerve-wracking.

2) What was it famous for?(何で有名だったっけ?)

友人との会話中に、話題に上がったお店の名前や駅の名前が出てこない時は、日本語では「あのお店の名前は何だっけ?」「どの駅だったっけ?」のように問いかけますが、英語では「What was ____?」のように問いかけます。この表現は、相手に質問をしているというよりは自分に問いかけている感じで、例えば、「あの場所の名前は何だっけ?」は “What was the name of that place?”のように表現します。
✔その他、「どこだったっけ?」は「Where was it?」、「いつだったっけ?」は「When was it?」のように言います。
<例文>
What was the name of the restaurant we went to last week? Oh yeah, Denny’s!
(先週行ったレストランの名前は何だったっけ?あ、そうだデニーズ!)
If you want to get on the bullet train you should go to…ah, which station was it? Oh, Shinagawa station!

3) Pass on(〜を遠慮する)
=================================
pass on は「やめておく」や「遠慮する」を意味する表現です。特に相手の誘いに対し「遠慮しておくよ」とやんわり断るときに使える口語表現で、友達や同僚だけでなく、目上の人や年長者に対しても使える便利なフレーズです。例えば、「カラオケは遠慮しておきます」は「I’ll pass on karaoke.」と言い、pass on の後に遠慮する対象が入ります。
✔ちなみに、「I’ll pass.」だけでも「遠慮します」を意味します。
<例文>
I’ll pass on dinner tonight. I still have some work I need to finish up.
(まだ終わらせないといけない仕事があるので、今夜の食事は遠慮しておきます。)
There are too many people in line. Let’s pass on it this time.
(並んでる人が多すぎる。今回はやめておこう。)
If I were you, I would not pass on that opportunity.

4) Signature food(代表的な食べ物)

signatureと聞くと、「サイン(署名)」を思い浮かべる人も多いと思いますが、この単語には「特徴的な」や「代表的な」といった意味もあります。地域の特産品やお店の看板料理、または友達が作る得意メニューなどをsignature food/dishと表します。また食べ物に限らず、特徴的なスタイルやファッションなど、その人独自のスタイルを表す時にも使われます。
<例文>
You have to get the four cheese pizza here. It’s their signature dish.
(ここの4種のチーズピザを頼まないと。ここの看板メニューだよ。)
He’s always had those bright red glasses. That’s his signature look.
(彼は昔から真っ赤な眼鏡をかけていました。彼独自のスタイルです。)

5) Delicacy(珍味)
=================================
フォアグラやキャビア、エスカルゴなど、高級で珍しい食べ物をdelicacyと言い、特にその国でしか食べられない珍しい食べ物に対して使われます。ちなみに日本語では気配りがない人を「デリカシーがない」と言いますが、このカタカナ英語は delicate から成り立った表現で、ここで紹介しているdelicacyとは意味が異なります。
<例文>
Have you had “shirasu” before? It’s a Japanese delicacy. Try a bite.
(しらすって食べたことある?日本の珍味なんだけど、一口食べてみなよ。)
I get that this is a delicacy in this country but I can’t eat it.
(これがこの国の珍味なのは分かるけど、私には無理だよ。)

He is a Turkish who happens to be in a poor family, has a father as a miner.
Gökçe's childhood life is pretty tough. His family has financial problems.
So he only had a chance to study in elementary school.
When I didn't continue studying, he had to start looking for a job.
He was only 13 years old, internship as a kitchen washing boy in turkey. His Hometown Works 18 hours a day.
And then he became an assistant in the meat shed.
Like this is the lowest point of life
.. but at this point, I made a dream for gökçe..
From being around in the kitchen all day, making him love the atmosphere of cuddle restaurants. Love cooking and making him inspired to have his own restaurant.
After knowing what he liked, he didn't wait.
Gökçe took his storage for about 2 hundred thousand baht. Departure to Argentina with a dream of owning a restaurant.
At Buenos Aires, Argentina Gökçe aims to learn as much about the meat industry, including using various kinds of vegetables.
From studying and loving what he likes, his dreams come true at 27 years old.
Gökçe flew home to Turkish with the skills collected from Argentina. He opened his first restaurant called Nusr-et steakhouse.
The name of nusr-et steakhouse is a name of nusret to play with the word et that means meat is a small steak shop with 8 tables and 10 employees.

By the way, did you know that the first fried rice dish even done was back during Sui Dynasty in China? That means all variations of fried rice available in different cuisines today all trace back to China. I like how different cultures interwine together because of food. It's food without borders indeed! Super awesome!
In Japan, fried rice also known as Chāhan (チャーハン) or Yakimeshi (焼飯) is a Chinese-derived fried rice suited to the taste of local Japanese with the addition of katsuobushi as flavouring and prepared with different ingredients. In Philippines, garlic fried rice is called sinangág, which s a common part of a traditional Filipino breakfast, usually prepared with leftover rice from the dinner before.

5 cloves of garlic - thinly sliced
1 bulb of garlic - chopped
Putting the dish together

4 cups of overnight cooked rice (each cup is 250ml)
1.5 teaspoons of chicken stock powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt

Today, i made this time a special dish that looks like the Japanese Flag using rice and Pickled Plums ( Umeboshi are pickled ume fruits common in Japan. The word "umeboshi" is often translated into English as "Japanese salt plums", "salt plums" or "pickled plums" ) and not just that, i made miso soup as well (is a traditional Japanese soup consisting of a stock called "dashi" into which softened miso paste is mixed. Many ingredients are added depending on regional) . It was so delicious and amazingly tasty in really unique way !!
