It's winter solstice here on the lunar calendar. According to the tradition in Taiwan, people eat sweet dumplings (or Tangyuan) to celebrate this special day. Tangyuan is a Chinese food made from glutinous rice flour mixed with a small amount of water to form balls and is then cooked and served in boiling water. Tangyuan can be either small or large, and filled or unfilled. You must be dying for some Tangyuan right now, especially on such a chilly day, huh?
Did you have your sweet dumplings yet? Just a word of advice. Don't eat too much. It's not about calories but your age. Why? As the elderly told us, after you eat Tangyuan on winter solstice, you get one more year old. haha...
