Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je met stiff opposition in city council on Friday over his NT$500 million plan to upgrade the YouBike ride-share system. The plan is to phase out the current YouBikes and docking stations by the end of 2021, replacing them with a fleet of new bicycles and docking stations that won't be compatible with the old version, which the rest of Taiwan still uses. In city council, Ko was caught on the backfoot as councilors railed against the upgrade, calling it extravagant and threatening to block the budget.
台北市規劃將全市YouBike汰換為2.0，新北市可能不跟進，將自行開發新系統，未來民眾可能無法載雙北互相借還車。2.0甚至跟1.0版也不相容，今天市長柯文哲到議會專案報告，藍綠議員砲轟，市府當初沒有詢問過其他廠商，也沒有要求要兼顧1.0，就讓2.0過關，痛批柯文哲根本就是圖利廠商。
