Having a difficult task at hand doesn’t mean you have to be worried or stressed out about it.
The level of your stress is proportional to your focus on your own strength.
You’re stressed about because your eyes are on the size of your problems, not on the greatness of your God.
When all the soldiers were fearful because of the size of Goliath the Philistine champion, David was focused on the might of His God.
“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin; but I come to you in the name of Yahweh of Armies, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Today, Yahweh will deliver you into my hand. I will strike you, and take your head from off you. I will give the dead bodies of the army of the Philistines today to the birds of the sky, and to the wild animals of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that Yahweh doesn’t save with sword and spear; for the battle is Yahweh’s, and he will give you into our hand.”” (1 Samuel 17:45-47 WEB)
This kind of faith-filled response to a challenge cannot be faked. It has to be developed over time in one-to-one moments with the Lord, in prayer and in the study of God’s word.
The soldiers were all caught up in the thick of the battle and relying on their own strength and abilities for survival—they couldn’t defeat Goliath like that.
It took a boy who came freshly out of fellowship with the Lord in the fields to slay the giant.
When you’re so conscious of God’s power and His love towards you, that faith will overflow in the face of a challenge.
Keep your faith fresh and alive by seeing your Savior’s love for you—nothing is a better proof of that than His death at the cross for you.
