Our handmade pesto is thicker than usual, so you will need to reserve some pasta water and add it to the sauce to dilute it (around 150cc should do, but you can adjust the amount according to personal preference!). If you are making seafood or risotto, you can add water or stock until it is diluted enough to suit your taste. There is no need to add water to make lasagna or spread it on toast!

I’ve been doing so much virtual meets and trainings, I knew that it was time for some quality time with the kiddos.
Our kids are all water babies.
Such a pity we can’t go to the pool just yet. So we improvise.
Last week, in my @gramfortheclean #CleanPON challenge , one of the first things I “attacked” was this bathtub as it was housing a lot of our fish equipment.
After a good scrub (with Norwex Microfibre and diluted bathroom cleaner of course ❤️🔥), the tub was ready for some bath bomb action using Offspring’s latest product - Fizzy Bubbly Bath Bombs in Eucalyptus and Lavendar!
Ilon enjoyed it sooo much, he wailed a good 10 minutes when we forced him out from the tub. Poor fella. 😅

CheckCheckCin:女生每月的月經都會耗失血液,可以趁月經前後調補身體,但要視乎體質症狀,因為月經失調問題有很多種類,如果經血量少、質稀、色淡紅,月經來潮時有容易頭暈、心悸、氣短、手腳麻痺等症狀,便屬於氣血虛弱型月經不適,宜補血益氣,適量食用黨參、北芪、紅棗、南棗、桂圓、枸杞子等補氣血食材,以及戒吃生冷及辛辣食物。如果不清楚自己的體質狀況,宜諮詢註冊中醫師了解。記得月經來潮時不宜補,待經期乾淨後才飲用。
五指毛桃桑寄生南棗甜湯
功效:益氣養血,適合氣血虛弱人士,紓緩心悸、容易頭暈、月經不調等症狀。
材料:新鮮淮山1根、五指毛桃20克、桑寄生15克、南棗4枚、枸杞子10克、冰糖適量
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨備用。
2. 鍋中加入1500毫升水,放入全部材料,武火煮至水滾,調文火煮1.5小時,最後下冰糖調味即可。

CheckCheckCin: Women lose a lot of blood during menstruation, so we should nourish the body before that. Nonetheless, we need to make sure we nourish our body according to our body constitution.
If an individual experiences dizziness, heart palpitation, shortness of breath, and numbness of the limbs, and her period blood is diluted, low in quantity, and pinkish red in color, then the person has asthenic qi and blood. She should nourish the qi and blood by consuming an appropriate amount of Codonopsis root, Astragalus root, red date, jujube date, dried longan, and wolfberry. Also, avoid taking raw, cold, and spicy foods.
Individuals who are not sure about their body constitutions should consult licensed and registered Chinese physicians. Avoid nourishing the body during menstruation.
Hairy fig root and mulberry mistletoe stem sweet soup with south jujubes
Effects: Replenishes qi and nourishes blood, suitable for people with weak qi and blood. It can relieve heart palpitations, prone to dizziness, irregular periods.
Ingredients: 1 fresh Chinese yam, 20g hairy fig root, 15g, mulberry mistletoe stem, 4 south jujubes, 10g wolfberry, rock sugar to taste
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly.
2. Combine all ingredients with 1500ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1.5 hours. Add rock sugar to taste.

You can of course add some toppings. It was my son's request that he does not need anything other than potatoes. haha
Sōmen (素麺) is very thin Japanese noodles made of wheat flour. The noodles are usually served cold in summer with a Dashi flavored tasty dipping sauce called Mentsuyu (めんつゆ).

Potato Somen Noodles Recipe
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 10min
Number of servings: as much as you want
Ingredients:
potatoes
Mentsuyu (dipping sauce)
condiments of your choice
Directions:
1. Wash and peel potatoes. Put water in a bowl. Using a slicer, slice potatoes into thin strips. Soak in water to remove extra starch.
2. In boiling water, add salt, then blanch the potatoes for 15 seconds. Drain in a strainer and quickly wash with cold water before the potato strips get soft with remaining heat.
3. Dip in diluted Mentsuyu (as instructed on its package) to eat.

((Somen Dipping Sauce from scratch))
* 300ml Dashi broth (using packaged dashi powder saves time)
* 4 tbsp. Mirin (sweet Sake)
* 4 tbsp. soy sauce
In a pot, bring Dashi broth, Mirin, and soy sauce to a boil. You can also microwave until it comes to a boil. Cool in the fridge until ready to serve.

Crisp brown fried noodles with a thick savory sauce with a lot of meat and vegetables. It is a very popular Japanese dish, served as a school lunch as well.
You can add seafood if you like. You can use any vegetables available in your fridge. Take it easy. It is a delicious lifesaver dish super quick to prepare 👍

Ankake Yakisoba (Fried Noodles with Thick Savory Sauce Recipe)
Difficulty: Easy
Time:20min
Number of servings: 2 servings
Ingredients:
2 servings Yakisoba noodles
150g (5.2oz.) thin sliced pork
150g (5.2oz.) baby bok choy
150g (5.2oz.) vegetables of your choice (onion, bean sprouts, carrot, mushrooms, etc...)
* 1 tsp. chicken broth powder
* 2 tsp. oyster sauce
* 1 tsp. soy sauce
salt and pepper
cooking oil
1 tbsp. Katakuriko (corn starch is ok)
1 tsp. sesame oil
Directions:
1. Cut the meat and vegetables into bite-size pieces.
2. Heat 1 tbsp. of cooking oil in a frying pan and cook the noodles 3 minutes each on both sides until crisp golden. Place them on serving plates.
3. Heat 1 tbsp. of cooking oil in a frying pan and cook the meat until crisp golden. Add the vegetables and cook until tender. Add 1 US cup (240ml) of water, then add chicken broth powder, oyster sauce, and soy sauce.
4. Bring to a boil, stop the heat, and add starch diluted with double the amount of water. Heat again until thick. Stop the heat and finish with sesame oil. Season with salt and pepper if needed.
5. Cover the noodles with Ankake sauce to serve.

You can arrange this dish with regular taro potatoes, or regular potatoes or a radish kind.
Perfect for everyday meal and Bento box!
Because its shape and pattern are like a shrimp, we call this taro potato Ebi-Imo (shrimp potato). It is in season from November through January. My neighbor gave me some beautiful Ebi-Imo, so I decided to make this dish for my family. I hope this idea helps 👍

Chicken Mince Simmered Ebi-Imo (Shrimp-Shaped Taro Potatoes) Recipe
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 30min
Number of servings: 4
Ingredients
600g (1.3lb.) Ebi-Imo (shrimp potato)
300g (0.7lb.) minced chicken
3 tbsp. green peas (cooked/frozen/canned)
salt
400ml Dashi broth
A
* 4 tbsp. soy sauce
* 2 tbsp. Sake
* 2 tbsp. sugar
* 1 tbsp. ginger juice
1 tbsp. cooking oil
B
* 1 tbsp. corn/potato starch
* 1 tbsp. water
Directions:
1. Peel and cut Ebi-Imo in bite-size chunks. Parboil in salted water to remove bitter taste then rinse to remove slimy texture. *When you use regular potato, this procedure is not necessary but it improves flavor.
2. Heat cooking oil in a pot, and cook minced chicken until no longer pink.
3. Add Ebi-Imo and Dashi stock, and bring to a boil. When it comes to a boil, remove the foam.
4. Add the seasonings (A), and cook until the potatoes are soft for about 10~15 minutes.
5. Stop the heat, add starch diluted with water, then heat again until thick.
6. Lastly, add green peas, and cook until hot.
