林嘉欣一向崇尚自然、環保及簡單生活，去年為陪女兒上堂而開始玩陶泥拉胚，竟一發不可收拾，日日瘋狂拉，今個月更接了第一單張訂單，為Kiehl’s 170周年慈善紀念，製作70件陶泥盛器義賣，為EcoDrive Hong Kong籌20萬善款，推動減少一次性塑膠產品。
「我平時係拉一件，鍾意點拉好自由，今次好唔同，點樣令到70件都差不多上下，呢樣又係迫逼到我技術上要再行多一步。由舊年二月到𠵱家，我拉咗三千幾件陶器，但我全部都係義賣或者送，啲錢拎去幫助基層。學陶泥嘅過程，對我嚟講都係一件學習，學習點樣去放下、點樣減法。」雖然成品以千計，但嘉欣堅持只是起步階段，至少要十年後才開展覽，最近更跟老師學手掐陶泥，樂在其中，「你做咗幾十年人，有一樣新嘅嘢，你可以重新做學生，我覺得好好呀，原來我好享受做學生，希望我一直一直做學生，即使我失敗，我都樂於失敗。」她深信一個人不老的關鍵，就是開放自己的思維，拎走所有的固定、前設，去接受新事物。
