//Tens of thousands of Australians took to the streets around the country yesterday in Uni Students for Climate Justice and XR protests, including over 40 000 people in Sydney alone. In Hobart, the Parliament was shrouded in charcoal and burned wood, the island's leadership in ashes. People are angry and they're terrified. Our leaders are failing us. The overwhelming message was simply this: don't burn our futures.
The current fire crisis is the leading edge of a nightmare that threatens all of life on our planet. This is one degree warming, we are heading towards a minimum of three. The horror of that future doesn't bear imagining. And global emissions are still rising.
Civil disobedience works. It's historically proven to be the most effective means we have to provoke systemic change. We have the ability and the knowledge to tackle this crisis, but we are running out of time. Join us now.
