Turn “Need to” Into “Want to”
“Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope: and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:3-5 WEB)
In life, many things happen to us, and how events affect us is how we view and attach meaning to them.
The apostle Paul had this revelation, and he taught the church to view suffering in a new light—to rejoice in suffering because it produces perseverance, proven character, and hope.
He knew how to reframe the undesirable things in life to become something that he wanted.
Suffering produces pain, but Paul reframed it to mean the training of his perseverance, character, and hope. Something bad became something precious and valuable.
We can apply this mindset to anything in life so that our trust is always in God and not in our self-efforts.
For example, if you see yourself putting on weight, your flesh may cause you to think, “I must go on a diet and exercise more so that I can lose weight.” This way of viewing the situation makes you reactive—on the defensive posture instead of wholeheartedly choosing to do something because you love it. When something is viewed as a burdensome chore, you will struggle with it.
Instead, why not detach your goal from the activity and just focus on the enjoyment of the beneficial action? You are not trying to exercise to lose weight—you are already young, healthy, slim, fit, and strong. Jesus paid for you to freely receive health and healing by faith.
When you exercise, there doesn’t have to be a goal. You can reframe your mindset and exercise just because you find it fun and enjoyable. “I like to run and feel my body challenging its limits. At the same time, I get time to enjoy the beautiful scenery that God has made, and listen to the Holy Spirit speaking to me.”
Wow, just like that, exercise without needing to gain anything from it becomes something desirable, just like the enjoyable activity of playing games for fun. Guess what, you will still reap the fitness benefits of exercise when you do it.
This method of refraining things is important because we don’t want to fall into the deception of getting things done by self-effort. Whatever is done by the flesh apart from God’s blessing has to be tiresomely maintained by the flesh.
If you’re struggling financially, and you’re always thinking, “I need to work so that I can earn money,” you’ll be perpetually stressed out, your performance at work will de-prove, and the self-reliance hinders God’s gracious provision and favor that must be received by faith.
No, you’re not working to earn money. You are a child of the wealthiest King of Heaven and earth—money is not something worth worrying about. You are always well-supplied and never lacking. God’s blessing makes you truly wealthy in all ways and He adds no sorrow nor trouble to it.
“Yahweh’s blessing brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.” (Proverbs 10:22 WEB)
Instead of feeling forced to work, work because you enjoy it, and because the people you deal with at work will benefit greatly from having Jesus as Lord. You would love to show them His glory through your words and deeds. When you think this way, you detach the goal of earning money from the action of working, and it just becomes an activity that you enjoy and look forward to—it becomes something very meaningful that you can be passionate about.
When you do your best at work to shine brightly for God, to showcase Christ in you, you will still be paid, and very likely, your job performance will improve. The state of mind will change from one that’s dragging your feet to work, to one that runs in, excited to embark on the next task for Jesus’ sake so that more may glorify our Father in Heaven.
Many times, God’s word says “repent”, and I agree that we can change our mind about all the ways we think negatively. Reacting by the flesh, we will always try to compensate for some lacking area by doing hard work, choosing man’s way instead of God’s way. To see a positive transformation, all it takes is a little reframing according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We don’t have to act like homeless orphans fending for themselves on the streets. We have a Father, and we are His beloved children. When your flesh tells you that you “need to” do something, reframe the whole thing by seeing it through Jesus’ finished work at the cross and what that sacrifice has accomplished for you. See how you can proactively “want to” do the task. Rest from fleshly self-efforts, and actively receive the supply of grace for every need!

暴力標籤
Translation: @brian2taiwan
.
.
Others’ criticism and compliments have never influenced our own self-worth.
Understanding our true selves makes violent labels useless in defining us.
.
For example,
My height is 177cm,
Some say that’s tall, which I regard as compliment.
Some say that’s short, which I regard as criticism.
No matter what others think, 177 is still 177.
When we understand ourselves well, like our height, capabilities, or hobbies, those labels others try to attach to us become useless.

True story.👇🏻
Today during our group coaching call, one of my students said she would like to step up and grow her business as a leader.
My advice for her is start right away. Share her thoughts and message openly and attract like-minded people.
Sounds easy right? But it is EXACTLY the thing that is holding most people back.😰
People are afraid to make a strong statement or share what they really think because they are afraid of being disliked.
They want to please everybody.
When you’re a people pleaser, your sense of worth is tied to what others think of you.💥
OUCH! I know it hurts.
As someone who used to hide to being a public speaker and sharing my thoughts openly, here are what I learned:
Standing up for what we believe in, matters.
We can live in kindness and harmony with people who disagree with us.
People have told me that what I’ve said in public gave them the courage to say something too.
Being my authentic self and stating my mind are freaking freeing.
If you’re afraid to tell the truth, think about who might be watching and how much they might need your example.
Once you get through this fear of being judged and yet don’t give a damn for the first time, it gets easier the next time.
Lastly, we don’t need to please everybody because we don’t NEED everybody.
Be you. Loud and proud.
🙏🏻 Share this on your Stories for people who need to hear this.

Hmm....Continue from Part 1, this vblog for Part 2️⃣ ~ SiennyLovesDrawing?? gonna sharing her own self day makeup ???practice in the workshop, how she did it from theory learnt & then seek guidance from instructor ??? to complete her day makeup ?
From her own learning experience & attendance, this workshop definitely worth the RM100 fee paid for a makeup beginner
Why?
She has gained a lot from the great content delivery, including able to try Focallure USA makeup products. Special thanks to product sponsor ~ Ayu La Bonita Cosmetics, the sole original distributor in Malaysia. Do check out their IG @AyuLaBonita4u for more details & purchase ya
She loves the detailed content delivery by the instructor, moreover she is very friendly & addressed clearly each questions raised to her during the workshop. The instructor also observed & helped each participants during the Part 2 own day makeup preparation
Personally she enjoyed this focus & personal guidance by instructor to help & guide on unsure application of theory to practice. For example, as shared in her vblog, she made mistakes on eyebrows drawing & contouring. Then, instructor has helped & provide clear explanation in guiding her for correct way. Really appreciate the effort by the instructor. Thank you very much, Cikgu Anna. Really enjoyed your session
Sharing some of the makeup tips learnt from the instructor,
- Don't be lazy, must clean/ wash each makeup brushes & tools used after makeup done. This is important to ensure long live usage then
- Don't ever soak your brushes while cleaning them, brushes will be spoilt
- Use of fingers for makeup application as fingers with body heat, so warm to apply shimmer on eyes & stay beautifully from 1st apply
- Use a harder brush to apply concealer when it aims for makeup correction
- When foundation too bright, do use a darken tone loose powder to balance the skin tone, vice versa
- Do apply baby oil on fake lashes 1st, it will get soften & easier to remove the lashes. Also stop the sticky from lashes glue with baby oil application. She has tried it, it works wonder. If your lashes remain pretty after being removed, do keep it for 2nd use
Ohh ya...She has gained an impressive moment before the workshop. She loves the personal reminder sent from the organizer, MPH Publishing to her WhatsApp few days before this workshop with notes for her pre-preparation before attendance as listed below,
• All makeup products & tools, including eyelashes will be provided
• To ensure face is bare, cleansed, toned & moisturized before the workshop begins. This is to avoid waste of time of removing makeup during the workshop.
• To also bring own daily make-up items so that instructor can share some advices
• To bring own hairbands/ hairpins to hold own hair for the makeup practice in the workshop
• To bring your own makeup removal, facial cleanser & towel if wish to remove makeup after

Souce from Wikipedia:
Prostitution in Thailand has been common in modern Thailand and its predecessor states for centuries. During the Ayutthaya Kingdom (1351–1767), prostitution was legal and taxed,[1]:2 and the state ran brothels.[2] Since 1960, prostitution in Thailand has been de jure illegal. Nevertheless, it was estimated to be worth US$6.4 billion a year in revenue (2015), accounting for a significant portion of the national GDP.[3]
Sex worker perspectives
Were it not for financial pressures, there is evidence that most sex workers would not choose the work. In Sweden and the Netherlands, where prostitution is "...legal, protected, lucrative and safe,..." it is not a popular profession. Greece provides a recent example of the correlation between prostitution and economic destitution: researchers there estimate that the number of people selling sexual services in Greece has soared by 150 percent since the Greek market collapse in 2008.[81] Many sex workers in those countries are imported from south and Southeast Asia. One Thai university student doing sex work to support herself lamented to an interviewer that "my life doesn't give me choices".[82] The president of Thailand's Foundation for Women notes that, "These women may well have the capacity to separate their sex work from their self-identity." In the words of one of the sex workers she interviewed, "Once I met my customer on a street, he tried to approach me. But I ignored him. What right does he have? Outside a brothel, I am a normal woman."[82]
Some "sex workers" claim that actual sex is a minor part of their occupation. An independent sex worker in Chiang Mai says, "...most of her job is having drinks with customers, only involving sex two or three times a month. Akin to a 'professional girlfriend', ...sex workers provide...company to middle class or foreign men. In return, clients will buy her clothing, take her to watch movies...."[82]
Reasons for the prevalence and toleration of prostitution
Social views
Thai society has its own unique set of often contradictory sexual mores. Visiting a prostitute or a paid mistress is not an uncommon, though not necessarily acceptable, behaviour for men. Many Thai women, for example, believe the existence of prostitution actively reduces the incidence of rape.[14] Among many Thai people, there is a general attitude that prostitution has always been, and will always be, a part of the social fabric of Thailand.[14]
According to a 1996 study, the sexual urge of men is perceived by both Thai men and women as being very much stronger than the sexual urge of women. Where women are thought to be able to exercise control over their desires, the sexual urge of men is seen to be "a basic physiological need or instinct". It is also thought by both Thai men and women that men need "an occasional variation in partners". As female infidelity is strongly frowned upon in Thai society, and, according to a 1993 survey, sexual relationships for single women also meets disapproval by a majority of the Thai population, premarital sex, casual sex and extramarital sex with prostitutes is accepted, expected and sometimes even encouraged for Thai men, the latter being perceived as less threatening to a marriage over lasting relationships with a so-called "minor wife".[57]
Another reason contributing to this issue is that ordinary Thais deem themselves tolerant of other people, especially those whom they perceive as downtrodden. This acceptance has allowed prostitution to flourish without much of the extreme social stigma found in other countries. According to a 1996 study, people in Thailand generally disapprove of prostitution, but the stigma for prostitutes is not lasting or severe, especially since many prostitutes support their parents through their work. Some men do not mind marrying former prostitutes.[58] A 2009 study of subjective well-being of prostitutes found that among the sex workers surveyed, sex work had become normalized.[59].....
