懷孕是一件幸福的事,亦是一件很炎熱的事!尤其懷孕後期正值炎夏的孕媽媽們,因為孕婦體溫比正常人要高;但孕婦不宜多喝生冷飲品,否則有損脾胃又聚濕,凍飲的冰塊有可能含有致命的李斯特菌,難道為了寶寶健康就只有忍?讓中醫師教你一些孕婦消暑小貼士!
生活篇:
- 可涼冷氣但不宜直吹,並且要注意室內外溫差,室內冷氣溫度不宜調得太低,否則一熱一冷容易生病
- 游泳降溫,泳後要立即弄乾身體及頭髮
- 選擇鬆身、透氣及吸汗力強的衣物,必要時多帶衣物更換
- 戴有大帽沿的太陽帽或傘子
- 帶備保濕噴霧
- 帶備小風扇,但要注意避免固定吹向一個部位
飲食篇:
- 補充適量水份,加片檸檬或薄荷葉可以令人更醒神
- 消暑的水果例如椰青、西瓜、蓮霧、蜜瓜、士多啤梨等可按身體狀況適量食用,記得從雪櫃取出後放置室溫一會才享用;如出現腹瀉或眩暈情況,就代表食材對孕媽媽來說太寒涼了,不宜食用
- 適量食用苦味食物,因其多有清心涼血、健脾利尿以及緩解暑熱的功效,例如苦瓜、生菜、萵筍、芫茜、薄荷葉等
- 每天飲一杯米水,有助強健脾胃,驅走濕氣,紓緩太熱無胃口的症狀
- 避免進食屬性溫熱的食物,例如蔥、薑、蒜、辣椒等香辛料
- 濕熱孕媽媽們更不宜進補

Tips to clear summer heat for expecting mothers
Being pregnant is one of the best experiences in the world, but at the same time, it also causes pregnant moms to feel warm all the time! Especially during summer, pregnant moms’ body temperature tend to be higher than that of the ordinary people.
Yet, pregnant moms should avoid drinking raw and cold beverages as they could hurt the spleen and stomach and accumulate dampness in the body. They might even risk getting the deadly listeria infection from ice cubes in the drink.
Does that mean pregnant moms can only suffer in silence for the sake of their babies?
Here are some tips by Chinese physicians to help you relieve the summer-heat!
Lifestyle:
- can enjoy the air-conditioner but avoid direct cool air; watch out for indoor and outdoor temperature difference and make sure it is not overly extreme because a sudden change in temperature can cause you to fall ill
- swimming can help you cool down but make sure you keep your body dry and blow dry your hair afterwards
- choose clothes that are loose, airy, and sweat-absorbent; bring extra pairs of clothes along with you when necessary
- put on a large hat or carry an umbrella
- carry a moisturizing spray with you all the time
- carry a small fan but avoid blowing directly in one direction
Food:
- drink enough water to hydrate the body; add lemon slices and mints to freshen our mind
- eat fruits that can clear the summer-heat according to our body constitution, for instance, coconut, watermelon, wax apple, honeydew, and strawberry; remember to eat it at room temperature after you have taken them out of the refrigerator; if you experience diarrhea or dizziness, the fruits might be too cold for the pregnant moms
- consume food that are bitter in taste as they can clear heat and cool the blood, strengthen the spleen and promote urination, and relieve the summer-heat; these ingredients include bitter gourd, lettuce, coriander, and mint
- drink a cup of rice water daily as it can help to strengthen the spleen and stomach, eliminate dampness from the body, and improve your appetite during the warm summer season
- avoid eating ingredients that are warm in nature, for instance, onion, ginger, garlic, and chili
- pregnant moms with the damp heat body constitution should avoid eating foods that are over-nourishing

香港的冬天雖然時間不長,但近年的極端天氣,突然寒冷那幾天在沒有暖氣設備的情況下,體感溫度比下雪地方如日本更要凍。天寒地凍的日子,如果人有冬眠模式的話,大家都想關掉總掣躲在被窩冬眠去,可惜沒有,大家唯有想盡辦法取暖。以下四大取暖方法,你都有做過嗎?
1. 在被窩裡換衫
清晨起床趕上班,實在沒有勇氣離開暖笠笠的被窩,於是將明早要換的衣服預先放在床邊,起床時在被窩裡換,將一絲溫暖感盡量延長。
2. 用冰凍腳掌貼著自己大腿
就算衣服穿得再厚,手腳仍然冰凍,最快捷方便暖腳的方法——將冰凍的腳掌貼著大腿,方法很殘忍,但卻很有效!如果有男朋友/老公的話,將腳直接伸過隔離也可以。
3. 用風筒把要換的衣物吹暖
人再暖,當換上一件冷冰冰衣服時,體溫又驟然下降,所以寧願花點時間用風筒熱風把衣物吹暖才穿上。
4. 放假沒事的話不下床
天寒地凍的日子,被窩以外的地方都不宜久留啊!除了要上廁所逼不得已之外,冬天放假時就該留在被窩,煲劇、打機、滑手機、看書、食飯,還有冬眠。
Four ways to keep warm in the winter
The Hong Kong winter is not long but the recent extreme weather systems may bring sudden low temperatures. Without heater, it could feel as cold as snowy places like Japan. Humans do not hibernate but many of us may want to hide in our blankets during cold days. Here are four ways to keep warm.
1. Change inside the blanket
Leaving your warm bed in the morning to get ready might be difficult. Try putting your clothes for the next day next to your bed and change in your bed the next morning to extend the coziness.
2. Warm your feet with your thighs
Sometimes no matter how many layers you put on, you still feel cold. The quickest way to warm your feet would be to press the palm of your feet to your thighs. It may feel harsh at first but it is highly effective! If you have significant other, try his or her thigh!
3. Warm your clothes with a hair dryer
No matter how warm you might be, your body temperature will drop when you put on a cold shirt. Spend sometime to warm your clothes with a hair dryer before putting them on.
4. Stay in bed on holidays
During cold days, don't stay too long outside your blanket! Aside from going to the bathroom, you can stay cozy in your blanket and binge watch your favourite show, play video games, be on your phone, read, eat, and hibernate.

One of the toughest training for me was the Sea survival at The Black Sea . The purpose ? There’s chances that the Soyuz might land in the sea hence it’s important for the astronauts to be able to save themselves while awaiting the rescue team .
The temperature was scorching 43C . Being in the spacesuit and in the Soyuz just make matters worse . We were in unbearable condition fighting off the heat and dehydration and need to change into our floating gear in the cramped heated Soyuz before opening up the hatch and into the water . It took us an hour for all the 3 crew to get it done .
I was able to complete the task but my body temperature skyrocketed to 105 Degrees Fahrenheit as the doctors immediately syringed cold water into my inner ear and showered me with cold water to bring the body temperature down . The Russian doctors are the best I have ever seen working tirelessly taking care of us astronauts .
I never realised how fatal it could be as I was very determined to complete my mission .
Alhamdulillah ... All went well .
