Bread in the Deserted Place

“In those days, when there was a very great multitude, and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to himself, and said to them, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have stayed with me now three days, and have nothing to eat. If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way.” His disciples answered him, “From where could one satisfy these people with bread here in a deserted place?” He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.” He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Jesus had compassion on those who followed Him and were hungry. They were in a deserted place.

Many believers are experiencing lack in this season. Some are losing their jobs, others are losing their businesses, seeing a decline in income, and economic prospects seem bleak. You could say it is like looking for food in a deserted place.

Abba God whose heart is compassionate just as Jesus is, wants you to be well-supplied.

He can feed you with more than enough bread, even in the deserted place. Nothing is impossible for God.

When His supply comes, it is not going to be a trickle. It will be more than you need!

Have a good opinion of your Heavenly Father. He is not trying to teach you a lesson by making you starve. He is the one who has compassion on the hungry.

Jesus multiplying the loaves and fishes is a miracle that appears in all four gospels. God knows that we tend to worry about provision, and He wants us to believe that He will surely supply our needs, no matter how huge the demands upon us seem to be. God will still make a way for us.

Go ahead and thank Him for multiplying your provision. In His perfect timing, you will surely see His goodness in the land of the living!

Alhamdulillah, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! The whole family has been waiting eagerly and excitedly for the Founder’s Day Ceremony to come around. Thanks to the technology amidst the pandemic, we still managed to have the ceremony - in the form of a virtual live video we could attend safely in the comfort of our home.

If Covid-19 hadn’t hindered our plans, I would be attending it in my school uniform in Big School, the main hall of King Edward’s School. But as I’m attending this virtually, this is my #OOTN 😎 Outfit Of The Night…yep, those are bright red Kellog’s socks! I guess you can tell how much I love cereal, huh?

As you know, I was blessed by not one, but two prizes this year. One is the Junior Drama Prize - I was really pleased to get this, being in the Junior Production two years in a row and being an active member of Drama Club really paid off! The other prize was the W.R. Buttle Prize, which is totally different from the Junior Drama Prize. I was awarded the prize for exceptional contributions to the harmony and wellbeing of my form, based on the opinion of my teachers and classmates.

I truly am honoured to have been given these prizes - without those people who led me to these achievements, I wouldn’t have received that fateful envelope bearing the good news in the first place. I’d like to say thank you to my friends and teachers, not only for considering me for the prize, but for supporting me a huge amount as well. I want to thank the School for all the effort to put it all together despite Covid-19 being among us, and for humbling me with the double prize. I also want to give my thanks to my parents and family for being my biggest point of support, advice, encouragement and unconditional love no matter what! And not forgotten, thank you to each and every one of you who has been supporting me and praying for me through thick and thin. Your love and loyalty truly warms my heart!

And above all, I thank Allah for guiding me on the right path and showering me with His gifts. Without all of His blessings, none of this would have been possible!

【もう、人として生きていくことはできない】

昨日、スタートしたクラウドファンディング「西野亮廣×鴨頭嘉人コラボ講演 ~夢とエンタメで世界を変えていこう~」が、プロジェクト立ち上げから７時間４４分で、目標金額の２０００万円を突破しました。

知らない方の為に、このプロジェクトの概要をあらためて御説明させていただきます。

こちらは、YouTube講演家の鴨頭嘉人さんとチーム鴨頭の皆さんが仕掛けてくださった、言わば「西野亮廣応援企画」でして……僕と鴨頭さんのコラボ講演を、なんと3週間後に東京国際フォーラムでおこなうのですが、なんとなんと、その収益を全額、映画『えんとつ町のプペル』のチケットの購入代金にあてて、そのチケットを子供達にプレゼントしてくださるというのです。
もう、とんでもない規模の支援なんです。



昨日は丸一日、映画のアフレコ収録がありまして、その合間合間でスマホをチラチラと見ながら、今回のクラファンの動きを追わせていただいたのですが……Twitterのタイムラインを見ると、チーム鴨頭の皆さんが一丸となって、「行け〜！」といった感じで、応援してくださっているんです。

もう一度言いますが、これは自分達の為にやっているわけではなくて、動機は「今回は西野亮廣を勝たせる」の一点なんです。


本当はお一人お一人に会いに行って、キチンを御礼しなきゃいけないところなのですが、映画制作が佳境に入っていて、今はどうしても現場を離れられなくて……なので心の中で「ありがとうございます」と言って、スマホを閉じ、また映画制作に戻りました。

今、チーム鴨頭の皆さんをはじめ、本当にたくさんの人が映画『えんとつ町のプペル』を、そして『西野亮廣』を応援してくださっています。

昨日もお話ししたのですが、今年は皆大変です。
１００年に一度のウイルスに襲われて、僕らは今日も溺れそうになりながら、その乗り越え方を探している。
皆、不安で不安で仕方ないと思うんです。
自分のことでやらなくちゃいけないことがまだまだある。

そんな中、僕の挑戦にその大切な時間を分けてくれて、「西野、頑張れ〜」と言ってくださっている。


本当に本当にありがたいし、罪深いなぁと思っています。


よく、映画制作の現場で、監督が怒鳴り散らしてたりするじゃないですか？
…というか、監督って、なんか怒ってますよね？　
前にある椅子を蹴ってるイメージありません（笑）？


僕、身体がナヨナヨしているので、怒鳴ったり、モノに当たったりしても似合わないから、ああいう表現はしないのですが、
あの「怒り」は、すごくよく分かります。

これは、映画に限らず、リーダーと呼ばれる人や、経営者もそうだと思います。

「怒鳴りちらすのは人としてどうなんだ？」という真っ当なご意見もありますが(超わかるよ！)、しかし一方で、リーダーは、この背景、このセリフ、この音楽、このワンシーンを存在させる為に、どれだけの人が動いてくださったか、そして、動いてくださった方々の顔かを常に想像しています。
その人達が、どれだけのものを犠牲にしてくれたかを知っているんです。

僕はありがたいことに「一緒に働きたい」という声をよくいただいて、それこそサロン内で学生インターンを募集すると、毎回、一瞬で数百人の応募がくるんです。

でも、彼らに、よく言うんです。

「その程度の覚悟なら、僕に近寄って来ないでくれ。そのペースで走りたいのであれば、僕の隣なんかよりも、もっともっと居心地の良い場所がある」

僕はあなたの首根っこを掴まえて、「僕の隣で働け」とは絶対に言わないんですね。
「他所でやります」と言われても、一切引きとめない。どうぞどうぞ。

ただ、あなたの意思で、「西野の隣で働く」というのであれば、覚悟は決めて欲しい。

１０００時間かけようが、それがツマラナイものであれば、僕は１秒でゴミ箱に捨てます。
恨むのなら、好きなだけ恨んでもらって構いません。
ただし、恨む相手を間違っちゃいけない。

ここは「これだけ頑張ったのに」が通用する世界じゃない。
一番悪いのは、１０００時間かけているのにツマラナイものしか作れない自分です。
「恨むなら、自分の弱さを恨め」といったところです。


時々、僕は、見る人が見れば「血も涙もないような判断」をする場合があります。

それこそ、「これ、デモなんですけど」といってあげてきてくださった時に、それが、たとえ完成度でいうと１０%程度であろうが、そこには、その人が今回の仕事にかけている想い・姿勢が全部出るじゃないですか。

そこで、流れ作業のようなものを出してこられる方とは、もっというと血の匂いがしない方とは、僕、二度と仕事をしないんです。
もう二度と会わない。

理由は、その人が可愛そうだから。
ここは、そんな人が生きられる世界じゃない。

そして、何より、この背景、このセリフ、この音楽、このワンシーンを存在させる為に、どれだけの人が動いて、どれだけのお金が動いて、どれだけ人が、ここに立ちたくても立てなかったを知っているからです。

応援されればされるほど、現場では人としていられなくなって、鬼みたいになっちゃうんですけど、でも、ここは、そういう世界なので、それでいいと思っています。


この話を聞いて、「上等じゃねぇか」という方がいらっしゃいましたら、株式会社NISHINOのインターンを受けるか、もしくは、ウチの若手社員やインターン生から話を聞いて見てください。

本気でエンタメをやる気があるのであれば、この上ない環境であることは間違いないです。

ただ、「同い年で、せめて日本一ぐらいはとっとけよ。みっともねぇな」という領域での打ち合いになるので、参加されるのであれば、それぐらいの感じでお願いします。

なんじゃかんじゃで、すっかり徹夜になっちゃったのですが、今日はスタートが早くて、これからもうアフレコ収録です。

This is the ′′ Nishino Ryo Nishino cheering project ′′ that was planted by the youtube speaker, Mr. Tsuji Chia-San and the team-head...... In my opinion, there is plenty of information out there to help an average Vietnamese student to get accepted into a prestigious school or to successfully secure a scholarship to study abroad. What happens then? I believe there is not as much information with regard to internship and full-time job applications. I remember when I first started finding out how to apply for internships and work experience, everything was a total mess and I did not know where to start. So, me being that super old postgraduate student, who is about to leave school, decided to make this short video that basically summarises the whole process of a typical internship/job application procedure. Hopefully, this animated clip can provide students a comprehensive overview of the entire seemingly complicated process. From there on, you may have a clearer picture of everything - where you stand, and how you can move forward. English subtitles are of course included.

I want to talk a bit about this video now. I have to say, this has been the worst video to make! The hours spent on drawing the damn pictures, the ridiculous amount of storage I needed to save all the files for editing, the annoying colour correction that is impossible to get right. But this has been one of my new year's resolutions - to make a drawing video and finally I have achieved that. Special thanks go out to firstly Han N Duong for helping me with all the logistics and part of the (fail) editing. Thanks to Trang Nguyen and Hoang Phong from LOK Vietnam who gave me tips on how to make these sort of videos. The lighting turned out horribly wrong though but I gave it my best shot. Thanks to Barney Yau and Joyce Chan who doubted my drawing skills... Thanks to Andy Tuan Anh and Khai Dao for being those career-driven kids, your cases provided good examples for the video. I'm sure you will help to contribute towards the comments section :) Last thank goes out to all of my previous Art teachers =))
